Volo Auto Museum auctioned a 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II purported to be formerly owned by the US Embassy and the car used by Prince Charles and Diana on their visit to the White House in November 1985.
The Rolls Royce was advertised all over the internet as the the actual Silver Rolls Royce with red interior that Charles and Diana rode in. Many photos of the silver vehicle with the Royal flag mounted on the right fender where splashed all over websites related to Volo and the Royal couple.
The vehicle was reported to have sold for $122,000.00 at the auction in 2012. Part or all of the proceeds where to go to one of Diana's favorite charties. I am not sure who the successful bidder was at the auction. However, Global Luxury Imports in Burr Ridge, IL. may have been the purchaser and now is advertising the vehicle in the same way referring to it as the Royal couples car they used in their 1985 White house visit.
The clincher to this story is that research has shown that a vehicle with the same VIN number was sold on ebay May 31, 2011, The vehicle was a 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II with red interior, but it was not silver, it was black. Also, we find that the purchaser of this vehicle just happened to be Volo Auto Museum at a purchase price of $15, 650.00!!
Now this vehicle shows up in silver, with the black Everflex roof now silver/gray. It is not a mistake that these vehicles share the same VIN number..because they are the same car. It is not the silver Royal car used in the Royals visit.
I have emailed Volo Auto Museum for clarification about this vehicle but to date no reply. I have also been in email contact with a rep at Global Luxury Imports but he has danced around my questions and now has stiopped emailing me.
What can I do next to prevent an unsuspecting buyer from buying this fraudulent vehicle from Global Luxury Imports? the vehicle is priced at approximately $124,000.00 right now. Without the Royal connection this car would be worth approximately $25, 000.00
I have the documents to support the claims I have made here.
