It all started in October 2008, the harassing phone calls, the missing payments, and the late charges added onto my account! I tried to reason with the employees from Wachovia that would call me continuously, but I got nowhere. I would give them reference numbers because I have always sent my payment via moneygram and I would be told that looking up reference numbers wasn't their job! I wrote a 17 page letter to Wachovia demanding an explanation and got no answer. I ignored their phone calls and just continued to make my monthly payment and before I knew it, repo agents were pounding at my door. The first time they came was midnight, then 2am, and the third time was 3:30am. About a month ago, I was told that for 5 months(October 2008-March 2009), my payments were not used towards my car but rather to pay an attorney! Supposedly, Wachovia hired an attorney to begin legal action against me, but for reasons unknown. I was NEVER notified of any such thing, Wachovia insists that they do NOT have to tell me the name of the attorney, and neither of us ever made a court appearance. Five months of car payments totals $1850.00 and Wachovia tells me that it is none of my business!!! Being that my payments are directly deposited into my account, how can it be legal for them to take my money and use it to pay a third party? I requested a copy of all transactions for my account and there are 'unapplied adjustments','unapplied disbursements','cpi adjustments', and late charges but nothing about paying an attorney! I have asked several employees from Wachovia to explain the adjustments etc. and again their answer to me is that it is none of my business. I receive 3-5 calls a day, Monday- Saturday and I have been told to 'grow up', I have been hung up on numerous of times, and everyone at Wachovia seems to hold a management position. It is obvious that Wachovia hires people who's only talents are ignorance, unprofessionalism, and rudeness. I also don't understand why we can't make payments at one of their offices but rather we have to pay an additional $9.95 to send it via moneygram or western union. I have retained an attorney at this point because Wachovia has ruined my credit, stole from me, and treated me as if my money isn't the reason that they all have jobs!
