you sir--are an a hole---i actually feel bad for your wife---it is customers like you that cause stress in the workplace--how does that feel?!?!?!?!?--instead of either waiting patiently or just asking for your car back you make a scene and insults towards employees--then you want to rush them just to get your oil chnage done???!!!--tehn you wonder why it was not done correcctly???!!!--providing this story is even true---you alos said you are 55 and have no reason to lie---um--what does age have to do with it--some patholgical liers live to there 80's!!!!----in any case---i have seen cars run without oil---i have seen chryslers come in for there 3000 mile oil chnage with a ticking sound--when you check the dipstick it is bone dry--this may have happened here---my moms chrysler is the same way--she always ran it with no oil---cause it always burned the s**t out of oil--then f course when she did get it "changed"--the car blew a rod----in any case---i suggest you learn a little respect towards one another cause you are the example of a customer who makes an employees workplace a bad and stressful environemnt---if it was me there at this place as one of the customers you wer making complaints to--i would of dismissed you for being a jerk off--i am sure these customers did-if this story is true

If this is the walmart on 50, I took my Dodge Ram in there a little over a year ago.  It has a Hemi engine, requiring 7 quarts of oil.   I didn't wait long, and when I paid, something told me to pop the hood and check the oil.  Nothing was even on the dipstick.   I looked underneath the vehicle and seen that the oil filter was changed so I know they serviced it.   I went back to the counter and they swore up and down that they put the required amount of oil in the vehicle.   I finaly got the dept. manager to check the dip-stick and he didn't know what to say.   They put 2 more quarts into the engine and that still didn't show on the dip-stick.  They took the truck back to the lift and drained 2 quarts out and put 7 back in.   So, it does happen.  If I hadn't caught it, they wouldn't have paid for my truck's engine to be fixed, once you drive away, its all on you......

I would suggest to anyone to never go to Wal-Mart Auto Service Center. I took my car there and they actually put the oil into the coolant overflow tank. I could not believe it. A good friend of mine who is a registered mechanic in the state of PA took a look at it and told me that is what happened because I did not have a blown head gasket. There was no other way for coolant and oil to mix. Even if I did have a blown head gasket, I would have coolant in my oil compartment not the other way around.

They are terrible with cars. I have my ripoff report posted as well if you would like to look and comment.

What do you expect when you start yelling at people "loud enough for customers and employees to hear", especially when "those employees" are in the midst of servicing your investment?

Lady brought a 2000 Astrovan in for an oil change and didn't have more than a few drops of oil in the pan. She told me she had added Lucas oil sometime after the last the last oil change, which I figure wasn't refilled. I see the car almost every day and five years later it's still running fine. Strange things do happen.

hey not sound crazy but i have a mazda proteze 1993 and drove onalmost no oil for abou 900 mile before i knew it was low and it seem fine after?! go figure.(there was about a quart in it the whole time dont know much about how it works but was a little scared at first (still i reallywould not believe if it did not happen to me!)

New to the sight. I am an ASE Master certified, GM, Toyota and Chrysler certified technician. Have been in the profession for around 25 years.
Just to comment on the poor oil change from Wal-Mart, we see around 10 oil pans a year from Wal-Mart oil changes, cracked, stripped threads etc...
As far as the no oil story goes, we had a '96? Buick LaSabre come to the shop for some tires and alignment. The tech test drove it before and after the alignment. The customer came to pick up the car and realized she wnated an oil change but forgot to mention it. So I pull the car in and pulled the plug, 3 drips of oil came out. No sign of leaks anywhere. She has never added any additives. Not sure how long it was without oil, but it sure makes you wonder

Common sense says you cannot run the engine without oil. I know...what is common sense? If any of this crap actually worked, there would be at least ONE car, truck, motorcycle, lawnmower, airplane, "anything with an engine" manufacturer recommending it. Slick50 is the closest any of them has gotten to working, but it requires high temps to bond to the metal. You can gain some improvement in fuel economy with anything that will increase the lubricity of oil, but you cannot go without the oil just because you added something else. This has to be a joke thread. Nobody can be this dense.

Do a Google on Duralube & FTC to see what they think about it.

You can't just dump any old crap in your crankcase because it's on sale at K-Mart. The crazier the claims, the more likely it's snake oil.

Why go back for an oil change, I guess all you need is dura-lube. I think this guy is somehow trying to market duralube or something like it. I like the oil fairy story it makes more sense than duralube protecting an engine for 3,000 miles without oil.

There were probably other cars in line before you getting their oil changed and they may have taken a little longer than thought. It's called patience. Second, if you were upset that it took them so long, you should have walked up to the counter, and politely, told them that it was taking too long and you didn't want to wait. They would have cancelled your service and gave you the keys back. Third, what kind of car do you drive that lets you drive it for 3000 miles with no oil? I want that car. None of mine have been able to do it.

If you knew anything about motors, you would know how ridiculous your story is. It doesn't matter what you have 'protecting' your motor, there are parts inside the engine that require constant internal lubrication.

What probably happened is this:

The oil fairy (they're from California), snuck under your car while you were talking to the mechanic and undid your oil filler bolt. He drank the oil, ate the bolt, and left the scene looking for his next unsuspecting victim that previously had their oil changed at Wal-Mart.

This is for all of you that have been so kind with your comments on my story!

My only intent in passing this story along was to participate in something that I thought was a valuable asset to consumers, namely the "Ripoff Report" I am 55 years old and have no need to make up a story for anyones entertainment, even my own. I stated the facts as they happened and if you chose not to believe them that's your perogative.

I would submit to those who casts stones. Have you ever tried Duralube or Prolong? The only reason I did was because they were marked down to $5.00 at a Kmart and I thought they could not do any harm to add to the oil change. All I can say is, it is the only explanation I can think of for there being no damage to my car. I do not believe everything I see on tv either but before I call someone a liar I would at least give it a try first? The only thing I know for sure is that regardless of the cost, it will be in every engine I own from motorcycles to lawnmowers from now own. And to those of you that scoff; KISS MY a*s!

Here's a tip. If you file a complaint here, make it the god's truth. Your complaint could be read by millions of people. Many of them will spot a bullshit story a mile away.

I worked for a super walmart for 2 years and I would NOT have my car serviced by them. If you work there long enough when a job[s]get posted anyone can apply for that position. My wally world they had boys just out of high school 17-18 with NO mechanic experience doing those jobs. they went from stock boy to mechanic Very scary. It was on the job training. If I need repairs on my car I would expect the mechanic to be certified. Its a buyer beware.

First let me start by saying there is NO WAY your car could run that long with no oil.
Second as far as your wait thats your problem when you sign up for service they always tell you about how long the wait will be. Im sick of people coming in and telling them 2 hours and then they b***h about it if you dont want to wait dont sign up. Go some where else. If it were me I wouldn't have given you your oil change for free, and Im surprised the associate did.

First of all, it amazes me you waited that long before grabbing your keys and leaving. Second, I think you were out of line to start getting loud and obnoxious, just leave if you're not happy with the service (it's only an oil change). I'm pretty sure if the car was sabotaged it was a direct result of your behavior. Third, I agree with the earlier poster that it is impossible to go 3K miles with no drain plug.

Word of advice, always check your fluids at every fill-up (as most manuals state).

I don't care WHAT product you use in your engine, there is NO FRICKING WAY your car could've gone 3000 miles without oil in the crankcase. You engine would've thrown a rod with the first hour, if you believe the the TV ads... what a crock
