Okay--Where to begin?

I applied for this job (where else) on Monster and they called me back TWO days later--I thought Wow! this company wants me! I went to the interview and was hired on the spot at nearly 30 large a year. Not bad money, right? So I took it.

Let me qualify the above figure. I've recently graduated college, so that much money seems like a great amount to me at this point.

Moving on--I went to a training session at a hotel down the street from where WHC is located--That's when I found out what happens. We had about two or three hours of lecture w/respect to the product and a couple hours related to business practice, legalities, etc... That's the moment when I figured out what I was getting into. I didn't realize how angry everyone was going to be.

The next day, before my next training session, I did some homework on the Cincinnati BBB website and found that they had 78 complaints filed against them (at this point it's up to 195--not counting Mr. Warshak's 5 or 6 other companies). I got nervous.

Since I started that first day, I've had a major problem with the way business is done. It's just plain slimy. I have a moral dilemma going in there every day (don't worry, I've been looking for other things since I started working there)... I hope I don't burn in the pits, if you know what I mean.

I went through a couple days of work taking complaints and cancelling orders, requesting credit for returns, etc. when the company let go a whole bunch of temps. They got rid of most, but kept some. They were temps, to be sure, but it made me nervous.

About a month later they let go of the rest of them. Since I'm a hired employee, I figured I didn't have much to worry about. Then some other changes have just recently happened that I feel I must tell about--Those of you that have been screwed or are currently being screwed--It's about to get worse.

We recently were given a mandate from upper management to not accept products for return for credit. This means that when you, the customer, receive that 2nd shipment you didn't want--you've got to keep it. I wish I could apologize enough--but I hate the place as much as you do. We can't give out anything else. We also have to give a hard sell when people want to cancel their accounts.

Now, I know that I work for the company, and most of you who've called in or written a report for this site are pissed about how the co. does things--let me tell you, they don't treat their employees any better.

We were told that we'd be getting benefits in 60 days--haven't heard a word. They have significantly reduced the pay for supervisors. They'll be significantly reducing the pay for all other representatives in short order--I won't be able to eat. So what I'm saying is--Steve Warshak isn't only screwing the consumer, he's screwing the people that he forces to screw others! I'm actually going to call the Dept of Labor to find out the rights I have as an employee with respect to Payment laws--does anyone have this information?

Thanks so much for listening--I know that my story isn't quite as dramatic or maybe as much of a ripoff as the rest of them, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in, also... to give a better perspective of just how slimy the dude is.

Berkeley Neutraceuticals Has Been Raided By the FBI!

AUTHOR: Lucy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 16, 2005

Well I am amazed to find on the news today a breaking report that Berkeley Premium Neutraceuticals, maker of Avlimil, Altovis, Enzyte, Rovicid, and many others, has been raided by the FBI! Finally someone is checking into the dealings of this company! Our complaints have been heard!

Here is a link to the news story!
http://www.wcpo.com/news/2005/local/03/16/raid.html

Here is another link concerning a warning label from the FDA!
http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning_letters/g5013d.htm

Please everyone be warned! This company is not ethical, and their products are not safe! The links above should be proof that this company is not looking out for their customer's best interest. Even though they have professional looking commercials and a "trusting" website, they are not who they appear to be!

At the very least this should remind us to be wary customers and not trust a company or product on appearances alone!

Well as I have said before, it is a round world and it looks like it is coming around!

Why is this company still in business???

AUTHOR: Lucy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 03, 2005

I posted to this thread over a year ago because as a former employee, I felt that Warner Health Care, who is now known as Berkely Premium Neutraceuticals, was ripping off customers and participating in less than ethical business practices.

For the sake of curiosity, I just checked back with this site Rip Off Report.com just to see if people were still complaining. My suspicions were confirmed further when I checked the Better Business Bureau's website to find that this particular company at this very moment has had over 4000 complaints filed against them in the last 3 years! I was shocked over a year ago when they had over 100!

I have been hearing many advertisements for Berkeley Neutraceuticals since they are apparently hiring again. Here we "grow" again! This company has a very identifiable pattern of business. They hire a whole new stock of unsuspecting people to work for this supposedly great company that is growing so quickly and the new employees have this "Once in a Lifetime" chance to earn an enormous amount of money and move up the ranks in this company to become a successful CEO or whatever they try to get you to believe. I know because I sat in that interview room and the training sessions and they make it sound very good and an opportunity that you can't pass up!

Then they run the ads like crazy to bring in the calls and sell all these managed care packages to unsuspecting customers who don't realize that it isn't a one time deal. They find out a month later that this is continuous plan and they will be charged continuously for something they only wanted to try. Customer's complaints are blown off as the customers own stupidity and they don't have any reason to be angry, they are completely wrong. They should be happy that they are offered this convenient automatic refill. After all, the managed care price is actually cheaper than the co-pay you would pay for a prescription... oh wait they conveniently forget that this is NOT a prescription... It is a natural supplement that has a clinical trial that, as I said in a previous post, isn't even a valid study that a scientist could make a accurate conclusion that the supplement even works with no side effects. Then they will lay everyone off at some point and have a slow period. Then it starts all over. And every so often they change the name of the company to evade detection.

Please pardon my sarcasm. I am just really shocked that this company with so many complaints against it is still doing business. If the Better Business Bureau has over 4000 complaints regarding this company and its practices don't you think that someone should do something?! Hasn't anyone done anything to stop Mr. Warshack? He is the slimiest of the slimy when it comes to business practices... if what he is doing isn't against the law... since no one seems to have been able to nail him... I think our legislators need to get to work.

Well anyway I hope that justice will be done. I hope that anyone currently employed with Berkely realizes that this is as much a scam to them as it is to the customers. It is a shame that this continues and there is no public warning or action taken against this company. They are preying on desperate people who just want to make changes in their lives. Unfortunatly there is no magic pill, a concept this company is depending on to lure in new customers every day. Berkely really needs to brush up on their customer service... but there is no recourse for their actions so why would they?

We're all screwed by the nature of the beast and that's cash! Like it or not.

AUTHOR: Ed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 05, 2005

In regard to Herbals on the market today,

Most people wont do any research for themselves they are too lazy.

It's hard enough to find a reputable dealer of an herbal product.

If you want to know about Herb's and what they can do check out the USDA Phytochemical Ethnobotanical Database online.

If you want a real antinflammatory, a true COX-2 inhibitor, A real Diuretic then check out the
online database and buy a book about weed's at Barnes and Noble or Borders Books.

We're all screwed by the nature of the beast and that's cash! Like it or not.
Most people dont know that inorder to get a benifit from an Herb they have to stop feeding their bodies the fuel that caued the problem in the first place.

You can go online and check Medline or any University that post's their results.

I have a book published in 1999 that stated what Viox and celebrex would do! What does this have to do about the post's? It's all about understanding your product! You would be surpised what black cohosh can do if you let it.

Grateful for the advise

AUTHOR: Sam - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 20, 2004

As suggested by one of Avlimil's supporters in an earlier post I did the research. I was pulled into the catchy ad on tv and thought long and hard before looking into it. the daily grind for women my age (40 somethingish) can get to you and in the "instant" society we have today, what a relief to know a simple little non-addictive supplement could be the AWNSER to my dilemma! BAH! To good to be true! You bet ya! As a nurse employed in an area that has a first rate cancer center research is our bread & butter. Reading the report on the double blind I was quickly questioning the research. But I did not jump to an unfounded conclusion. I researched the properties of the herbs contained and in some instances found their statistics pure fiction. I hate to admit it I was still hopeful for a quick fix. I called. The overconfidence of the promise to CURE my ail was "SCARY" coming from an unlicensed MD, it sounded more like desperation then honest belief of a products ability. Then I found this web sight and its NUMEROUSE posting of not only shoddy business practices but also NOTHING from satisfied customers who actually used the products. That overwhelming lack of support of the actual product itself speaks volumes to a licensed healthcare pro. Drugs, vitamins, or supplements that REALLY WORK have supporters who will make their views known in order to continue having their favorite product available. I professionally believe I'd be better off getting a time management counselor, getting more sleep, and daily taking a well balanced vitamin for women from GNC then purchasing the before mentioned snake oil. So in conclusion, THANKS, For making this information available! I fortunately was not taken in but it goes to show that even a well seasoned (no age pun intended!) professional like myself can get caught up in the hope and have their good judgement fail. Question: Where the hell is dateline on this!?

Screwed, Thats what we got from our dealing with them

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 17, 2003

Thats what we got from our dealing with them, $4.50 for the 30 day "FREE" supply and $35.00 charged to our credit card. I had to get my c.c. # changed to stop them from billing my card and we have still not gotten that mess fixed.

They are nothing but a scam, ripoffs selling snake oil.

They told us to return the second months supply and they would refund our money, we did return it, got the papers to show it. Guess what, no refund, all they did after hours on the phone and God only knows how many times we called, they charged my c.c. again.

These people are theifs!!!!!

This company is young and growing fast. I have been very impressed to date with my employment at Warner Health Care. I am sure when this company first started up not everything was done correctly, but I can say the sales department is very upfront and honest about the managed care program. We have to tell all of our customers about Managed Care Direct before we get off the phone. The sales reps that aren't, obviously aren't doing their jobs and are just in it for the sales commission. I have never lied to any of my customers and maybe that is why I don't see the problems. If a customer calls in and hasn't done their own research about a product that is their responsibility. They don't have to order they can just get a brochure. They also don't have to use a Credit Card they can send in a check or a money order with the order form from the brochure. The women who use and benefit from Avlimil will definetly tell you a different story. These employees obviously don't mind getting a paycheck from Warner Heath Care. If they were so concerned that this was a "scam" they would have quit and found a new job. They may have a guilty conscience, but that is because they aren't doing their jobs correctly and tend to lie to their clients because that is the only way they can make a sale!

As for the Mr. Warshack and other management: your right management needs a little work, but things are getting better. This is a new company and we are still going through all the "growing pains" all new companies go through. I actually commend Mr. Warshack for some recent thing he did to help his employees. I like working for Warner Health Care. If you don't, you know where the door is. Your negativity can only hurt us and we don't need you. For the customers I realize that things may read as horrible, but please do your own research and find out for yourself. Get a brochure.

Sincerly,

A believer in Warner Health Care

Claire from Cinn Ohio, You have no idea what I was told when I called Warner

AUTHOR: Gina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 05, 2003

Claire------
You are an a*s. You have no idea what I was told when I called Warner. After the original speech and BEFORE I gave my credit card, I asked him if the only charges I would receive on my card was the$4.50. He said YES, YOU WILL NOT BE BILLED ANYTHING ELSE. Not 24 hours later I logged on the the R/O report and read hundreds of reports on warner/ Avlimil. I immediately called back to voice my concerns. I was told by Justin that the way it works is that you are sent a continuity shipment and your CC is billed automatically. You would NOT know this until after you receive your first shipment. You have to count on the integrity of the company you are dealing with. In this case the lack of integrity. So your uneducated comment about consumers reading the info before we buy it not possible. People like you give humans a bad name. Go back to bed and wake up when you grow a consience.

I am a current employee of Warner Health Care. I hate to say it but this company is the biggest scam ever. Right now if you call to get a credit for a cycle we sent after you canceled MCD they wont there is a hold on all credits. But hey dont think your alone in this in the past 2 weeks Mr. Warshak has cut our pay by $3.50 hr. but also cut the team leads as well, and Mr. Warshak or his Sister Sue didnt even go in to tell the team leads they sent their lawyer!!! Now how F--ked up is that???? Now I have been at Warner Health Care for all most 8 months and in my 8 months I have seen so many things happen. This company could care less about its customers and even less about it employees. Before we moved to our new building Mr. Warshaks sister Sue Cossman decieded there was to many people there just collecting a paycheck and not really doing their jobs so she fired them. This is how they firer you, someone comes over and tells you someone up front needs to talk with you and when you go up front someone else goes to where you was sitting and collects your things and takes them up to you. Now isnt that nice?? This company is so shitty they do everybody wrong. Mr. Warshak will try and justify the fact of why they are doing this to people, but I know as well as you know its bullshit. I am looking for a new job and hope to find one soon.

POSTED: Sunday, November 30, 2003

Lucy is 100% correct in everything she stated. This company and all it's affiliates are complete scams.

And like the other employees, I started this job with the expectation that it was legitimate, it's not.

Everything we were told in our interviews was a complete lie, from our wages, to the product, to how our clients were to be treated.

This company needs to be closed down, it's nothing more than a rip off for anyone that orders the product.

A good 90% of the employees are job hunting, doing everything we can to get away from the place as fast as possible.
The previous rebuttle from Mark, the "happy" employee is a crock, it's one of the owners.
No one there feels good about the place or the product.

Run...Run fast...Run far!!!
Soon to be happy ex-empolyee.

Lucy,

Thanks for your strong and well worded response.

Speaking on behalf of the growing legions of people who had money "stolen" by this company, we know the difference between Mark's stupid nonsense and your comments.

WE know who's right and who's NUTS !!!!

Mark is so brainwashed and it's so obvious, it's almost sickening. You went to great lengths to tell him where he went wrong, and it was perfect !!! We can tell that he must have been the best brown nose in his training class and was a sponge soaking up all the information about the good things (the lies) about the company and distorting it in his mind.

He failed to have a conscience when it came to the bad parts and conveniently overlooked the obvious deception. You were smarter than the rest and you are resented for having the balls to leave the company. Good for you and Good Luck.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Excuse me MARK! I was Not Sent Packing!

AUTHOR: Lucy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 27, 2003

In rebut to this response, I will say that I was not fired at all! I left voluntarily! In fact I was asked to stay on and move with the group to the new facility! I was productive... otherwise they wouldn't have asked me to stay! However I did not want to continue to collect my paycheck each pay period because I could not stand the company I worked for and how they treated not only their customers but also their employees. And I felt like a liar and a cheat!

If the statistics that I stated were incorrect then I was misinformed because those statistics are the same that I memorized from a script provided by your company!

And as far as my 1% goes I did simple math based on my sales... If you had half a brain you might be able to do the math yourself. I looked up all of my customers which had sales that had cleared (this means they were not declined). I took the number of sales which were still on managed care and divided it by my total number of sales. This my friend, gives you a percentage of customers still recieving continuous shipments. If you passed highschool you might remember this concept. That is how I got 1%. This is can be understood simply, that most of the customers I had sold the product to had cancelled further shipments. And it wasn't just MY customers so please don't throw it in my face that I am a horrible sales rep. I frequently had 50% close rates or higher. My close rates would have been higher if many of my calls hadn't been customers complaining because they couldn't get through to customer care. These callers clued me into the fact that this business may not be very legitimate. One or two disgruntled customers is understandable in any business... but when almost 50% of my calls every day were unhappy, disgruntled, customers a person has to begin to wonder...

The way that your company is making so much money is by the continuous shipments that are not cancelled either by the customer, or because of your bumps in the road where the errors lie with your humans and computers. You are stealing the money from hard working people. Because once the product is sent out, requested or not, you won't reemburse your customers. Plus because of slick advertising you are sucking in new unsuspecting people each day to purchase your "free" sample which then gives you access to their money for shipping and handling and any other charges you feel necessary for managed care or restocking fees or whatever. It is not a decent way to do business. If your customers raved so much you wouldn't have to trick them into more shipments. They would call and order more. If the product was that good you wouldn't have to do anything, it would sell itself. And you wouldn't have so many unhappy customers.

I am not just shouting out lies because of my grudge or whatever you may think. I have heard complaints at not only this site, but many other sites where customers claim they were sent shipments that weren't ordered or they continued receiving orders after they had cancelled managed care! Many have even recieved shipments within 14 days of their order which technically is another human/computer error because they are supposed to receive shipments after 20 days during the first cycle and then every 30 days during subsequent cycles. Somehow this seems a little shady.

And it is shady. I hope your company is shut down permanently. You deserve to get what's coming to you. It is a round world and you will get yours one day. I just hope you can live with yourself after you realize how this company has brainwashed you and used you to do their dirty deeds.

As far as my lack of productivity, you can stuff it! I have a lot of product knowledge and then some. I have done my own research beyond what Warner Health Care told me to learn about Avlimil. I have found that the ingredients in Avlimil which you claim are safe, and have no contra-indications with any medical conditions or interacations with any medications, may not be as safe as you claim it to be. For instance the claim on this thread that Black Cohosh can cause liver problems in a small percentage of women. Even if only 1/2% or women have this problem you cannot state that it has "no" side effects as many of your reps are instructed to tell customers. Also Valeriana is not recommended to be taken every day for long periods of time. Avlimil is a daily suppliment that you need to take indefinitly to acheive and maintain its "results". You also have no way to prove its efficiency. Your so called study was a private study funded by your company and it isn't published in a medical journal. And if you have ever read it over, it is full of contradictions and improper spelling. If this were a true scientific document, the person who wrote it should have at least spell checked it. That takes away a lot of credibility when the one document you use to "prove" your product isn't grammatically correct. That is the only "statistical data" that Warner Health Care uses to back up their claims!

All I can say is good riddens to Warner Health Care. Mike, you should get out of there. Any job would be better than that place even if you have to flip burgers temporarily!

As for your product, they really should let women know that Black Cohosh has been known to cause liver problems in a small percentage of women

POSTED: Thursday, November 27, 2003

OH, MARK.......? If these ladies are lying, then why did I have to report my Mastercard as compromised, two months after I cancelled the Managed Care program? Could it be because your company continued to bill my card AND not send your "product'?

As for your product, they really should let women know that Black Cohosh has been known to cause liver problems in a small percentage of women. For women who do want to use the ingredients in your product, Black Cohosh is available at GNC for about $10 for 50 tabs. And they don't have to pay for the pretty packaging and the non-stop ads on TV.

comments and statistics are also totally inaccurate

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 25, 2003

Interesting comments from Mike and Lucy. As a current employee I have to rebutt their responses. Our dear Lucy was sent packing due to non-performance. Conscience my a*s. Her comments and statistics are also totally inaccurate. Our boy Mike is struggling with such a moral and ethical dillema that he continues to be "tricked" into collecting his paycheck each week. Be careful where you get your information.

The product IS federally regulated. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA, but they are regulated by the FTC. In other words, we can't say anything that can't be backed by statistical data. Our product is manufactured in one of the largest federally inspected and regulated manufacturing plants in the USA. Plus, I must say, on my last visit I didn't see any sawdust on the premisis. Each batch/lot is monitored and documented for efficacy and consistency throughout the manufacturing process. Any dumbass would know that ingestible products are very closely monitored by the government. They regulate the manufacture of dog food, for Christ's sake.

As far as Lucy's stats on customers that continue using Avlimil she is flat out and out lying. Anyone with half a brain would realize that if only 1% continued use of the product we'd be out of business pretty quickly. It's damned difficult to sustain a company when you give product away. This is an excellent product and customers continue to rave about it. These employees were hired and paid to answer customer complaints and concerns. I'm not sure what they expected but every company has to deal with some complaints. No, we're not perfect. Sometimes we miss a shipment. Sometimes we bill incorrectly. We employ humans and use computers and neither one is ever perfect. That's why we have a customer care dept in the first place. Whenever you have over half a million people purchase your product you have some bumps in the road. I've worked in a number of departments in the company and trust me when I say this, Warner is a top notch company. We are young, hungry and have a dynamite product. We reward the doers, and get rid of the non-doers.

I think these folks have an axe to grind due to their own limitations. If Mike wants to see the daylight I'll be more than happy to show him the door. That's why we put them there.

Sadly, I know that I work in the same place, feeling the same pain. It helps to see that I am not alone in my misery.

I have to say that I feel dirty when I get off work. A shower helps, then a good night's sleep.

Anyone who reads this: I really really really would work elsewhere, if the job market was better in our area.

We were basically "tricked" into this job for the most part and 80% of what we were told is/was bogus.

maybe I will join Lucy and find some daylight.

wish me luck!!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I would definitely not give them any access to your credit card or checking account information

Anonymous it completely truthful
I too am a former employee of Warner Health Care. The reason that I left was because my conscience couldn't take anymore of the lying to customers. I would recommend anyone even thinking of trying Avlimil to stay as far away from this company as you can. I would definitely not give them any access to your credit card or checking account information because they will continue to charge you even if you call and tell them to stop. I have heard more than enough complaints from customers who even after calling to cancel further shipments continued to receive shipments and a charge on their account for each one. Also I was instructed to tell customers that they had 20 days from the day of their order to call and cancel further shipments. There are more than a few people who said that not even 14 days had gone by before another charge and shipment were made.

I will definitly confirm that Customer Care is not what this company is about. They DON'T CARE and they show it by rudeness and deceit every day! They are only interested in lining their wallets with your money and sending you a product that is not federally regulated so it could be tablets of sawdust for all you know. Their clinical testing is BS too. Their so-called randomized double-blind clinical trial that supposedly proves an 84% success rate was done over a 3 month period and less than 50 women completed the study. Obviously not a diverse enough group that would warrant an accurate result on this product's safety and efacacy. They also boast a 91% reorder rate but if you think about the fact that every order is enrolled in an automatic shipment process I would guess that there is a really high reorder rate by that standard!

Before I left the company I researched all my customers that I had sold avlimil to and less than 1% continued on the managed care direct program. If there was truly an 84% success rate I believe that more women would be taking it for more than one or 2 months!

This company is very slick with its advertising and also pumping up the sales reps to make sales! They are really good at making you feel like this suppliment is worth something and the disgrunteled customers are wrong. I don't know how many times they told us that the reason people were upset was because they weren't on the product long enough. They needed to be on it for at least 3 months for it to work so they are wrong to want to cancel it before it had a chance to work. In acutality the reason most people cancelled it was because of the automatic billing/shipping!

When I was hired I was told that with commission I could make $1500/paycheck! I didn't believe it then and I still don't. I never made that much money. In fact two weeks after I got there I received $4 decrease in pay/hr and the commission was also reduced. It was such a bunch of BS it was unreal! They really know how to draw people in!

Please avoid Avlimil and Rovicid like the plague. If you take a chance and try the "free sample" you are setting yourself up to be scammed. If you are looking for a job there or were recently hired... start looking for new job. I still know some people on the "inside" and from what it sounds like it isnt' going to last long and you may be out of a job anyway!

Good luck to all and I wish you the best!
