These people start harrassing you with phone calls the day after payment is due. They called 6 or 7 times a day right up until 9:30 at night. I had a niece that worked for one of the offices in the Tampa, FL area and it was stated that the office would hold payments made by mail in a bin til they were late and then apply the payment costing the customer late fees. They also changed the payment due dates from the original contract payment dates and accused the customer of paying late and charging late charges (this happened to my brother). Of course no one can answer just how that happened, even management. Then they would offer to change payment date to accomodate the situation and charge more fees. Customer service is rude, arrogant, insulting and threatening. Now that contract will end soon, they're offering a rebate incentive to finance another vehicle............I let them know it will be considered when hell freezes over and that's never.

Actually, Westlake DOES change your due date without notice

AUTHOR: Shan - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 13, 2015

I am a current Westlake customer and my due date was changed not once, BUT TWICE by them during the first 4 months of the loan. When we bought the car, we chose a specific due date because it aligned more closely with my husband's pay schedule. Suddenly, it was changed because Westlake had some internal restructuring. Then it was changed again. When I asked if I could go back to the original due date, I was told I could, but it would then put me 1 month behind on payments. WTH? By the way, not everyone who goes through this company is a deadbeat. We paid off ALL our consumer credit card debt in August of 2011, not knowing it would tank our credit. In April 2013, our 22 year old Mazda blew the head. Since we had just replaced the transmission in January, I wasn't willing to put more money into the car. We were forced to buy a used car, and, since we had never financed a car previously and had no open credit at all, Westlake was one of the eight companies who offered us a loan. We have a great, reliable car now, but the interest rate blows. In two years, we have only been late once, and that's because my husband was out of work and unemployment had run out. He got a job just before everything imploded, but his first payday wasn't soon enough, so we ended up being 4 days late. I am really sick of reading the comments by the same people calling anyone who complains about this company a serial deadbeat. That is not always the case and Westlake isn't always in the right. Shady business practices are shady business practices, no matter what.

Right, Sure!

For absolutely no reason they call you AFTER the payment is due.  Hey Einstein, guess what...if you pay ON TIME they won't call you.  When you don't pay on time, YOU are telling their BILL COLLECTORS to call you.  Have somebody explain that statement to you, I know I used some big words that perhaps you can't understand.  Lets see, despite them being party to a signed contract, THEY change the due dates, right?  Right, sure.  Looks like in the past YOU screwed previous creditors.  When you were placed with this SUBPRIME lender, you continued in your ways of being a SERIAL DEADBEAT by screwing them also.  Some people never learn or grow up.
