Purchased a new home with all Whirlpool appliances. The microwave, model GMH5205XVQ-0 has had the magnetron replaced twice in two years and now needs a third. The end of the bad magnetrons have been burned off and scorched the inside of the housing. The repair was done under warranty by a local reputable company and was performed professionally. Now that the magnetron needs to be replaced again, Whirlpool refuses to fix the microwave. When I indicated I felt the unit was unsafe, the customer service rep I spoke with said there are no known issues with that model and refused to discuss any alternatives. The whirlpool range has equally been a pain to maintain. The electric elements are all warped and pots and pans wobble and are not level. The oven never keeps a steady temperature. I'll be replacing this pile of junk too. Whirlpool used to have a good reputation but unfortunately they no longer stand behind their products. I will be looking for another manufacturer to replace all the whirlpool junk I paid extra for to get the GOLD series. Gold to whirlpool, lead to the customer.
