BEWARE!  I read this warning from others too late.  But I fear there are hundreds of unsuspecting tourists in Charleston who will fall into the same trap.  The salesmen and women in this outfit are predators.  They are looking for people who would like to be able to travel more than they really can afford to do.  And most people who are exploring Charleston fit that category.

I agree with all the other victims who have reported that the promises are very misleading.  The hotels that they include in their database are not the dream destinations that they promote in their visual presentation.  The resorts they include are not the 5-Star Luxury locations that they suggest you can visit with unbelievably low weekly fees.  It is unbelievable because it is not REAL.  I have not researched any locations outside of the US, but all the US "resorts" that I have researched have limited amenities, and some are just bare-bones lodging facilities.  No one needs a travel membership to find deals for these locations.

The contact number for the concierge service provided on the Wholesale Escape website only proved to us that we had been scammed.  I called once to inquire about how to use navigate the reservation process online.  The female who answered the phone was very pleasant, but she said that there was no record of our account in her system.  I called almost two months after we had been successfully beguiled.

I know there is no recourse, because they design a very crafty membership license that asks the buyer to release all rights to question his judgment after the date of sale.  We really should have had better discernment on that fateful day.  But since we didn't, we want to warn all who have ears to hear and eyes to see!

Refund success

AUTHOR: Ann P - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 08, 2013

My husband and I wrote letters to the BBB, the mayor, and the Charleston legal department.  After several months, we were pleased to receive a message that our money would be refunded.  The group still stalks the streets of Charleston, so the list of victims must continue to grow.  DO not place yourself in jeopardy.  Walk away.

Dishonesty should never be allowed

They are dishonest from start to finish. They have a piece of paper that says you can't get out of the contract. We can lie to you and tough we have you. When Charleston or any other city or state allows this... they are asking for dishonesty from the masses and that is what they is happening in Charleston. We went there as tourists having a good time.... never thinking about that we could be walking into the lions den. We didn't have any way of checking them out as we don't travel with a computer.

You can help yourself and all of us by going to the city of Charleston (Danielle), the attorney general, consumer affairs, convention & visitors bureau, tourism, & BBB (although how much lower can they go from their F and D- ratings from the BBB?) Don't forget the Chamber of Commerce. We were charged from Wholesale Travel Connection (F rating BBB), that was their name before they became Wholesale Escapes (D-BBB rating). I have just found out now they are charging using 1st Choice. This is their business from Myrtle Beach, they also have Map Destinations in St Augustine, FL.

If you are ever in the city again you can peacefully stand in front of their business with a sign. You can not stand on their rented property. but you can on the side of the street. If I saw someone when we went it would have saved us a lot of hassel.

The city of Charleston needs to know how they have billed you. This will tell them and you if they are having trouble with the merchant accounts. You see banks don't like their merchants to be unethical either. They will shut a merchant account down if there are too many complaints.

Don't just sit there complain to whomever will listen! Make their lives as miserable as they are making yours by their stealing. If we complain enough they will have to become ethical.

Get your facts straight and report how they have lied in their paper work. #10 for example in the paperwork is a good place to start. They are not the cheapest hotels and they will not refund you if you use a discount of AAA or AARP. The same goes for priceline, expedia, etc. Do you see anything anywhere that says they do not accept these discount hotels? Not in any of the paperwork we signed! LT promo at aol dot com They refunded me three times but will not do it anymore. In fact the owner signed the refund checks.

You can not lie on a contract and then say you can not get a refund. Wait until you catch them in a lie, report it to your credit card company and get your refund. I did!

Good luck everyone. It is your money and you worked hard for it. Don't let them steal it from you.
