I purchased a dining room table and chairs from Wickes. The table had defective problems on the table-top and the finish would start to come off. I notified Wickes and stated that it was a problem with the manufacturing of the table. I asked if 1)could we get another table since I assume this would happen again and 2) if not, please come out to repair. They sent someone out and gave me a new top.
This happened again twice(as I knew it would) and they stated that they were no longer liable since it had been a year since I purchased the table. I explained to them that it has happened to three table tops and that the table was defective.
Wickes stated that they would have a supervisor in customer service call (never heard from her). I called back two weeks later and their notes on their database showed that a customer service supervisor had called (blatant lie). I stated this wasn't the case and could I please speak with a supervisor. The person I was speaking with put me on hold and then got back on the line stating "the supervisor is on another call and will call you back shortly". I gave them my number to make sure they had the correct one. NO ONE EVER CALLED. I emailed the company and called a coupled of more times but the same thing as before. I was given the run-around and told someone would call back.
My advice - Don't ever buy from Wickes (we bought the extended warranty). They will push you to buy the warranty but in the end, THEY WILL NOT HONOR IT.

Warranty- Time out!

Oh please, your company doesn't even honor a warranty that hasn't run out of time.
I still have well over 32 months left on my extended warranty and I am still battling to get my replacement furniture. The same furniture that your companies' repairman came out and stated was a manufactures defect ..
That crap was no good from the time it left the warehouse and made its way to my door via your companies' delivery persons.
I am able to use 3 seats out of a living room set that is suppose to seat 7. Half my family is currently sitting on the floor or dragging out dinning room chairs to sit in the family room.
This whole experience with Wickes Furniture is horrible. From the sales reps, to the customer service reps all the way up to the Supervisors.
Have you bothered to google Wickes Furniture? The hits you get on complaints are unbelievable. And you have the audacity to post a comment defending your company?

In most cases the warranty company is contracted by the furniture store, and the two are unafilliated. A lot of the times a consumer's frustration is misplaced.

Out of Warranty

When you go to buy a car and they give you a 50,000 warranty. If at 49, 999 you need service, the company fixes because "you are in warranty". If at 51, 000, you contact them for the same problem, Will they fix it because the same thing happen when you were in warranty? No, because 'WHY" you are out of warranty.
We have a three year repair replacement warranty. Not three years from the date you started having problems, three years from the date of purchase. That is the problem people don't understand and that's why you people make my job so hard. Trying to explain the out of warranty policy. Might as well have a lifetime warranty if we are going to keep fixing the same problem. LONG STORY SHORT, THEY DON'T MAKE FURNITURE LIKE THEY USED TOO. Sorry!
