About 2 Yrs. ago I saw an add for a 2011 Scion TC used at Winn Hyundai of Santa Maria. It was in a local car shopper. It was advertised for $15,999.00. I checked Kelley Blue Book and went to see the car. It was in great condition, had 30,000 miles and the price was right in line with KBB dealer price. I declined the extended warranty as I am a certified mechanic I do my own work always. I declined GAP for $800.00 and I put $4200.00 in cash down on the car. I have ADDHD and everyone knows that we miss things, I cant believe I missed all of this. The salesman not only added in the extended warranty and GAP, but also charged for a smog test AND the smog abatement fee. You cannot charge both, no smog test was performed, I had to file a complaint with DMV investigations and eventually I was reimbursed for the smog teat that they did not do. The WORST of it is the salesman ADDED $2000.00 to the sticker price bringing it to $17,999 instead of $15,999. When I found this I questiond the dealer who told me " We do NOT have to put the selling price on the sticker" LIE!!! "That this is what Kelley Blue Book estimates value at" Who would pay 2 grand more the reasonable price?? DO NOT do business with Winn Hyundai of Santa Maria, they will rip you off. They are as corrupt as I have ever seen in 30 years in the automotive business. Normally I do business with dealers I know, But It was the right price @ $15,999 and the wife liked it. Its a great car, BUT I paid $4800.00 more than I should have and thats without the interest charges. Stay away from Winn Hyundai and any other dealer Winn might own. I cannot stress it enough! I registered another complaint with DMV invetigations and I won, BUT 2 yrs. had passed and Winn Hyundai could no longer be held liable. Ain't that GREAT!! If you dont catch it soon enough you eat it! SO, I paid $22,799.00 plus interest on a 6 year loan (it was supposed to be 4 yrs.) for a $15,999 car. HOWS that for an UPSELL! I know it said not to capitilze things but its how I feel, how ould you feel. All I can say is STAY away from Winn dealerships, especially Winn Hyundai of Santa Maria.
