In September of 2005 I purchased a Motorola i850 from Wirefly.com . All rebates concerning this phone were honored except the most substantial rebate for customer loyalty valued at $150. All procedures were carried out carefully to ensure that I'd be eligible for the warranty.

As noted by other victims, all necessary paperwork had been filled out, UPC barcodes sent, as well as copies of the invoice. Nearly a month later during the month of June, I received an email stating that my inforation had been received and once all of the information had been processed I'd be notified again one week before the check would be sent out.

I felt as if I was being pacified, but I went along with it anyway. I continued to check the status of my rebate for the next month via the link contained within the enail. Nothing appeared out of order, until my information literally disappeared off of the website.

I attempted to call the number provided by Inphonic, only to be routed out to a number that is essentially not in service. I quickly began researching for information concerning this corporation thereafter, and discovered my worst fears had been realized.

According to an article from MSNBC states that "the company is one of the 'most complained about' firms in America, according to the Washington, D.C., Better Business Bureau. I'm sure anyone caught in this unfortunate web of deceit will find the following artice enlightening. Take heart and know, "many" others aren't going down without a fight.

Important Notice About Wirefly Rebates

AUTHOR: Jon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 21, 2006

Hi, Michael:

Wirefly is transitioning to a new database system and rebate processor to enhance the Wirefly customer experience.

During the data migration, rebates that you submitted may not be visible in our online tracking system. This is temporary and is scheduled be completed by September 2006. In the meantime, we are continuing to process and pay rebate claims during this transition. If you have questions about a specific rebate submission, you may call our dedicated rebate hotline:

(866) 607-9877

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.
