On February 17, 2013 I bought a wolf hybrid from Blue Moon Wolfdogs via the website http://www.wolfhuskypups.com . The first day that I brought this puppy home I noticed that she was acting lethargic and refusing to eat or drink. I was concerned and took the puppy to see my veterinarian on February 19, 2013.
My veterinarian ran fecal tests to determine what, if any, illness the puppy suffered from. I recieved a phone call on February 20, 2013 from my veterinarian who notified me that my brand new puppy suffered from coccidia, an intestinal parasite.
Immediately I contacted the website through their live chat option to see what could be done. Unfortunately, I had signed a contract which does not guarantee the health of the puppy besides genetic illnesses. I also signed a contract that stated that no reimbursements would be made in the case of an illness.
However, they did offer for me to return the pet and told me that I would be reimbursed the money after the puppy was resold. I told them that I would not return the animal without payment first because of the risks of money lost on my part. They did not agree to do that, which was fine, considering that I had signed the contract.
From here the conversation took a very unprofessional turn. The website began to blame me for the illness and told me, "do your research." Which I had, and the illness has a thirteen day incubation period and I'd only had the dog for three days at that time. They also claimed that the illness was likely caused by stress that I caused to the puppy. They then disconnected from the chat and I was unable to continue the conversation.
I next sent them an email describing that I was unhappy with the way that the representatives of the site had conducted themselves and let them know that I was going to be leaving them bad reviews and they stated that I would then be subject to a lawsuit for my "lies." I notified them of my first ammendment rights and ended the conversation.
Wolfhuskypups.com is, in my opion, run extremely unprofessionally and I would not recommend buying from any breeder through them. I also advise against buying any animal from Blue Moon Wolfdogs, as this puppy was sick before I got it and coccidia is transferred through fecal matter so it's not unlikely that every litter born there hereafter will be infected. Since there is no health guarantee, I hope that no one makes the same mistake that I made by buying a puppy/dog from these people.
