In October a Lady from United Benefits called me and said she could get me an unsecured credit card with a $2000.00 limit, and no additional sign up fees. She said it would cost me 299.00 because of my current credit rating. They would be able to take the money out of my account on Oct 18, 2003 and I would get my card in 14 working days, so approximately 3 weeks. I said that I didn't want it because the interest would probably be to high. She said that "no it wouldn't be above 10%." She would be my account manager and repot to the 3 credit agencies when ever I made a payment.

So I gave her all of my information. Then as a different lady was confirming my information I told her I had changed my mind about the offer. Well on 10/20/03 299.00 was taken out of my checking account. I called the number that I had for the company(waited 2hrs on hold). And was told that it didn't matter what I did or said they would not refund my money, and to expect a credit card and packet in the mail in two weeks. I called a number of times unable to even get thru.

Finally in November I recieved a credit repair packet, not the promised credit card. Resigned to the fact that my money was lost, I figured I was going to get my credit card. I called the company again to see about the credit card and to ask about a refund. No Way. We do not give refunds. Again they told me I would get a credit card in 2 weeks. Two weeks came and went. In January I called again to see about a refund.

They told me my credit card had been mailed on January 5, and I should get it any day. Well today I still haven't got a credit card, and I still haven't got a refund. I finally got a hold of the company today and now they said that if I do everything in the credit repair manual I should be able to get a credit card in about 3 to 6 months, and they still will not give me a refund. I am so glad that I found your site. Now maybe I can get justice. I will keep you updated on the outcome. Thanks!!!

On 2/11/04 Scott Richardson called me and told me that United Benefits did not have a customer satisfation policy. After about 5 minutes of this man telling me I was stupid and didn't know what a credit card offer looked like, that is why I did not get my credit card. He said he had proof that it had came to me in the mail. Finally he told me that he would give me my money back minus a $30.00 back charge for taking the money out of my account and putting it back in for me. I am sending him his kit back. I still think that this is a scam. If they charge all of us $30.00 to get our money back, they are still making approximately 20.00 a person. That can add up to big dollars in a hurry. I am still making complaints to the district attorney, fcc, ftc and our local news and newspapers. These people have to be stopped.
