Cate Blanchett Source rejected me. What a tragedy? Make me laugh! Tragedies, I have come to realize are a luxury item. A Coach bag. A Versace dress. A construction of an affluent society, full of sorrow and truth but without moral function (Blanchett the automaton). Stories of the vanquishing of the spirit and underscored a certain societal spirit to spare. The weakening of the soul, the story of the downfall and failed over-coming like missed trains, letters not received, pride flaring like the nostrils of horses, the deaths of horses in battle, Guernica!, the demolition of one's own offspring  (Cleopatra! Blanchett the tragedian queen!), who were then served up in stews - this WAS awe-inspiring tripe, wounding entertainment told uselessly and in comfort at tables full of smooching love and lots of money and Cate Blanchett of course in Versace. Where life was meagerer, where the tables were only half full, the comic triumph of the poor was the useful demi-lie. Jokes were needed. A necessity. "And then the baby fell down the stairs". She applied an SK-II mask "in bed". Cate Blanchett had a nightmare about plastic surgery "in bed". Why even the automaton Blanchett might laugh. This shit COULD be funny. Especially in a place and time as the present where worse things happen but the hollow brain of Blanchett does not listen. It's not that suffering is a sweepstakes, but it's relative and Ms. Blanchett could not be bothered: oh no, that would never do like some boring, stuck-up teashop. For understanding and for perspective, suffering requires a butcher's weighing. And to ease the suffering of the listener, THINGS HAD BETTER BE FUNNY.  Though they are monotonously unfunny. And this is how bland Blanchett fails miserably. No - she's not funny and mostly one of the most boring public mouth pieces (Katherine Hepburn sees the the gears clicking in the Blanchett brain). No. Blanchett is a sell-out. She wants to be a James Bond villain and make 15 million a year, like  Angelina, after failing miserably twice in Indiana Jones and the repellant Hanna? She's far worse really, she's embarassing and not funny in the least. She sucked on Family Guy and will be a disaster in a Woody Allen flick. Cate Blanchett really sucks and will NEVER understand comedic timing. Stick to Cleopatra Cate and the luxury meat and Versace, of course.
