Insufficient research was done PRIOR TO subscribing to the Zoosk on-line dating service OUTSIDE OF what was viewed for internet or television advertising.

Unaware of any local friends using the service to obtain better feedback, this consumer elected to purchase a 6 month subscription but IMMEDIATELY noted a $25 upcharge fee ON TOP OF the 6 month rate. Immediately I complained and the fee was eliminated.

1. From not one hour in to opening the Zoosk site immediate attention was brought to a Carousel whose profiles you could not open but just flip from one candidate to another.

2. Coins had to be purchased or points accumulated in order to view those profiles of consumers who it APPEARED to be interested in this subscriber. Unable to see anything until actually submitting the allotted 20 to 30 coins, it was at that point where profile information could be reviewed.

3. This subscriber is a non-smoker and in search parameters I identified same. Yet of the hidden profiles or those having to pay "coins" for, 99% of profiles reveal a person that is a social smoker.

4. Just flipping thru the Carousel or unaware of others, a constant repeat of those supposedly interested were profiles I blocked for smoking or having seen on competitors websites whose profile pictures have not changed in at least 8 years of viewing elsewhere.

5. Profiles appear of past subscribers who I personally know no longer subscribe to Zoosk.

6. A notification appears near daily to my personal gmail account of 25 to 30 candidates in my region or who might be interested but AGAIN 75 to 85% are social smokers. This notification can not be viewed inside of Zoosk when opened yet becomes a BAIT and SWITCH method of keeping a person active.

I would NEVER recommend this service to any subscriber. Extreme delays are presented for responding to questions. Seeing others write in about an instant $25 renewal fee for an automatic subscription is pure DECEPTION and and act of FRAUD!

Joining the ever growing concern for a site like this in existence is up to the subscriber to determine but making others aware of falsification and bilking of funds.

7. There is no other means of getting contact from someone this subscriber might be interested in pursuing further altho a phone number does appear to work. Email addresses inserted in to text often are not passed along.

Recommendation is to NOT subscribe to Zoosk
