A DECADE has passed and still no payment from Joe Heinzen of WorldSafe

AUTHOR: Eric - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, December 28, 2023

2023 UPDATE:

On August 6, 2013 Joe Heinzen emailed the author of this report to say:

"I am going to pay you when I am able as a courtesy.    I hope you are well.   Thanks, Joe

Sent from my iPhone"   I guess he hasn't been able to pay during the past 10 years.   He has moved onto WorldSafe and Reading Without Borders and has moved on from reconciling a small invoice.   Zoozil was an EdTech publishing company that created original, choice-driven stories and featured them in a way that reinvented reading. Joe Heinzen's unique brand of Change The Story historical fiction books allowed his readers to learn about pivotal world events, STEM, and kidpreneurs by navigating a character through the story.

Joe Heinzen, an educational technology leader from Richmond startup Zoozil, still hasn't paid after 9 years.

AUTHOR: Eric - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, March 31, 2022

Joe Heinzen, an educational technology leader from Richmond startup Zoozil, continues to pivot away from this invoice and change the story. This would make a great e-book because it's now been 9 years of him being passionate about reinventing bill avoidance after experiencing the invoice in 2013. For the $475 I'm due, I could buy a passport to reading adventure and establish some education software to teach Joseph that part of promoting literacy through Zoozil's interactive books should include paying a bill before a decade passes.

Zoozil’s story may have started with a reluctant reader … Joe Heinzen who founded the EdTech company that serves the K-12 market, but this story still does not have a happy ending due to the reluctant president hoping this invoice will just disappear. Stay tuned to see if I return one day to thank him for a better late than never payment, or to continue writing chapter after chapter about how classrooms should beware of Zoozil and beware of Mr. Heinzen.

8 Years Have Passed and Joe Heinzen Has Paid $0 of $475 Owed, Read Zoozil Founder's Broken Promises to Pay Here

AUTHOR: Eric - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, March 21, 2021

Timeline of Zoozil Founder Joe Heinzen's Failure to Pay a Simple $475 Invoice After 8 Years of Requests Here's a summary in writing of all the times Joe Heinzen of Zoozil emailed me to thank me for the work I did and his promises to pay me for it. Unfortunately Joe Heinzen of Zoozil has not paid anything and he has been ignoring my remiders since 2013. I think patiently waiting for 8 years for Joe Heinzen of Zoozil to pay an overdue invoice isn't asking too much.

• Nov. 23, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, “I'm going to knock out your kill fee payment next week. I am able to do $100.00 and just wanted to give you a heads-up.”
• Nov. 6, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, “I expect to have your money in two weeks.”
• Oct. 1, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, “Just wanted to give you an update - I should have money for you soon.”
• Aug. 6, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, “We never agreed to a kill fee at the inception of the project. I am going to pay you when I am able as a courtesy.”
• July 22, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, “I will knock this out very soon. Thanks for the continued patience! I truly do appreciate it.”
• July 18, 2013: I emailed Joe Heinzen another invoice reminder, “Another month has passed. What gives??????”
• June 17, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails I, “I need a little more time. I'm sorry. Please touch base with me in 1 month. Thank you for your continued patience.”
• June 2, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails I, “Sorry Eric! I'll knock this out tomorrow. I'm at my sister's wedding.”
• May 1, 2013: I emailed Joe Heinzen, “I'm a full-time freelancer now, so this has become more crucial for me. Please advise on a transfer.
• March 31, 2013: I emails Joe Heinzen, “I'd rather wait until May if we have to.”
• March 21, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails I, “I'm finally back! Sorry for the delay. Things are a little tighter than expected until May. Can we knock the "kill fee" down to $250? Let me know if this works for you. I can transfer today.
• March 12, 2013: Joe Heinzen confirms receipt of the invoice and replies, “I'm traveling. I'll knock it out when I get back.”
• March 6, 2013: I sent Joe Heinzen an invoice via PayPal for $475.
• March 5, 2013: Joe Heinzen and I agree via email to cut the $950 invoice in half as a kill fee. I requested $475 and Heinzen responds, “Understandable and fair. What's your PayPal?”
• Jan. 31, 2013: I emailed Joe Heinzen that I spent 9.5 hours on the project at a mutually agreed upon hourly rate of $100 per hour as outlined in the Statement of Work.
• Jan. 31, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me regarding trademark issues saying, “I wanted to give you a quick update on the Trademark dispute. Things are still pending as legal attacks it like dripping molasses. :-) I went ahead and finished the copy you started. There were some nice ideas in there that you had - thanks. Can you approximate how many hours you spent on things? I want to settle up with you here shortly.”
• Jan. 24, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me, saying, “Hold off. There's a few issues I need to solve before we dedicate anymore time to this.”
• Jan. 23, 2013: Joe Heinzen emails me his edits, saying, “I think we are close, but need to re-work some things.”
• Jan. 18, 2013: I emailed Web site draft copy to Joe Heinzen, he replies, “I like things. It looks good so far.”
• Dec. 26, 2012: I emailed executed NDA to Joe Heinzen

Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA - Who Owes Me Money, JUST ASKED ME FOR MONEY!

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 19, 2017

Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA - Who Owes Me Money, actually ASKED ME FOR MONEY this week. He wanted me to contribute to a fund for an ailing relative. On top of that he sent me a connection request on LinkedIn this week as well.

What do these two actions from Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA - Who Owes Me Money mean?

One of two things:

Either Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA - Who Owes Me Money wants to continue rubbing this outstanding invoice in my face because he intends to never pay ... OR ... Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA - Who Owes Me Money doesn't pay attention to detail, treats all of his business contacts the same - as one big potential money maker for himself - and sends blanket emails to people without regard to the consequences.

Either way be wary of doing business with Joseph Heinzen of Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, VA. He owes me money (and it's only a three-digit figure).

The Kill Fee is the same as the Invoice So I Resent for Payment 3 years later

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 15, 2016

On March 5, 2013, Joe Heinzen of Zoozil called this invoice/kill fee request "Understandable and fair"

Based on his rebuttal to this report in December of 2015, I resent the invoice (again).

I will advise if indeed he "honors it" ...

Project "Kill" Fee Offered

AUTHOR: Joseph - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 29, 2015

The project engagement was for website copy. Unfortunately, the copy was very poorly written -- nor was it grammatically correct. This was discussed that we would not be moving forward. A project "kill" fee was offered, but unfortunately, they did not accept it. This was done as a courtesy for the time they did spend working on the project. We believe that this was more than fair given the circumstance. Should the individual elect to accept this, we would still honor it.

2 Years Later, Joe Heinzen from Zoozil Still Refuses to Pay

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 08, 2015

I have sent multiple reminders to Joe Heinzen of Zoozil for an invoice dated March 6, 2013 for services rendered. Joe Heinzen of Zoozil refuses to acknowledge them. Mr. Heinzen has no intention of paying AFTER TWO YEARS OF PATIENTLY WAITING and getting a plethora of excuses (along with promises to pay) still nothing. So this is an anniversary reminder that Joe Heinzen from Zoozil Media, Inc in Arlington, Va. does not pay his bills (and I have seen another ripoff report about him and his company stating something similar.)
