Campus habitat provides very inexpensive housing to students of many colleges in the United States. I was rushed into signing a lease with them and have no 'break lease agreement'. Basically the Apartment is filled with the worst kind of tenants who will blare rap music on school nights, break glass everywhere outside, play basketball outside your room in the middle of the night. Some of the tenants here do not go to school. This is probably because the rent is really cheap. You definitely get what you pay for.

There are several services provided by the company. For those who are technically inclined the internet is split 20 ways from 1 modem, which means your bandwidth is terrible. You end up having to pay a tenant upgrade for reliable internet, so technically its not included. They also include electricity which means you get 3 wall outlets in your room, I cant plug in 2 computers without blowing the circuit breaker so you can forget things like a microwave or any other high voltage appliances ever running.

Their break lease agreement is basically 'Pay the rest of your lease' so if you do ever decide to reside here i would at least make a more practical break lease agreement that you can take advantage of before you decide that you made a terrible decision.

If anyone is having similar problems I would encourage going to a Real Estate Attorney. There are laws that state "The Legislature finds and declares that men in a free society have the right to quiet enjoyment of their homes; that the stability of community and family life cannot be maintained unless the right to privacy and a sense of security and peace in the home are respected and encouraged". I have not made an attempt to do this but if and when i do ill be sure to let you know how that goes.

Hillarious...

AUTHOR: Robert - Irvine (U.S.A.)

So you rent a cheap apartment that caters mainly to College Kids.  Then you are shocked that there is actually loud music and people playing basketball at all hours...Ummm.

Perhaps people sharing a modem 20 ways would work just fine.  That is unless all of those kids are using TWO computers and probably playing on-line games or downloading huge music or video files.

Maby you should call all of their parents to make sure they know how their kids are frittering away their college education.  Or if you don't want to get the parents involved, call the cops the next time they are playing basketball in the middle of the night.
