Jill McFerron Remax sold us a home with a bad well - and denied it - buyer beware! Colorado Springs Colorado

Several years ago when Jill McFerron worked for Remax, we bought a house in Black Forest Colorado from her with a bad well. We repeatedly asked the Seller (Jill McFerron) for the condition of the well - and she changed the subject every time. We were not told that the well's maintainer had just informed the owner that the "well was on its last leg and would soon need to be replaced." The well's age of 40 years was also concealed. This was our first home purchase of a house with a well.

After moving in and living in the house for just 1 day - the well dried up - causing our family of 5 to spend 7 days without water! To drill the new well we had to 1) prove when the house was built, 2) have a state inspector regrant the same water rights for the new well 3) spend $5300 to drill a new well. As none of the records were on file - it was a huge hassle.

Our commercial home inspector also missed this little detail. We filed a complaint with the better business bureau and Remax and Remax told us "they were not well experts". We filed a complaint with the colorado real estate commission and the person handling our case died and we never heard from them again.

My advice to you: 1) Never do business with Jill McFerron or ReMax realtors! 2) Look at your property's well pump - call the number on the sticker and ask them for a history on the well - including a condition assessment. 3) do not expect anything from Colorado Better Business Bureau or the Colorado Real Estate Commission.
