I located a home via the internet listed by Tony Seagraves of Remax 100 in Commerce Township, Michigan. I previewed the home which included lake access. Seagraves assured me the home has lake access via the title and home association. The next day, I decided to make an offer. As a female, first time home-buyer Seagraves told me I had to deposit $5,000 on the home and that was all there was to it. He also told me that I would have to select carpet, lighting and a dishwasher for the home via the builders accounts. This was false!

As it turned out, I had to pay for these items out of pocket. He failed to appear for appointments and even locked me out of the house to drop off the lights! He had already cashed my $5,000 deposit and threatened me indicating that I had to schedule an appraisal on his terms or lose my deposit. I still have the voice mail message saved. He also advertised the house with several ammenities (i.e. patio) and claims now that was "just a mistake".

I requested the respective documents regarding the lake access several times and he still failed to provide. I had to retain legal representation in order to protect my interests. It is still uncertain if I have lake access or not!

I am expected to close on this home next week 9/26/02 and already have almost $10,000 into it. Seagraves is an incompetent realtor and has coerced, harassed, threatened and discriminated against me - and I all I wanted to do was buy a house.

If you haven't gone to settlement, this will help.

AUTHOR: April - Waldorf ()

I've seen how ReMax handles people for myself, hopefully someone will eventually investigate their way of business. I could tell you stories of the crap they pull in Maryland, but I'll just give you a personal example.

2 Years ago, my husband and I were looking for a rental property, we saw a listing with the "Dehanas" team (Remax), we told the realitor, April Dehanas that we liked the property but did not have great credit, but are financies were consistant and we had good referals from prior landlords. She told us that would not be a problem, but she would need $50 up front to run a credit check regardless. Fine, we paid it. We didn't hear anything for over a week and called her. She calls back another week later and tells us that the owner would not let us rent from them due to past credit. I told her that because of her waiting so long to get back to us she has now put us in a bad possition, our lease would end in a week and we still did not find another place. (Maryland rentals are hard to come by) I tell her I can get a co-signer. She then says that it's already rented. The first people that paid their credit check wanted the place. I asked her if she know this when we lokked at the property and was told yes. Real Estate laws prohib a realitor from taking another persons credit check fee, deposit, etc. when they already have a renter or buyer, knowingly, and it was obvious that she knew.

Trust me when I say this, the "just a mistake" is crap. Remax intentially lies when showing a house. The place we previously rented was originally listed with Remax and said 2 bathrooms, etc. We moved in to find that it only had one and when asked we're told the same thing.

If you haven't gone to settlement yet, you can get out of the contract on a breach or lease. You can also take them to small claims court to get your deposit and money put into the home. Now, if you have gone to settlement, you can still take them to small claims court and get the money you put into it because of faulisified information.

GOOD LUCK!

Crazy People Need Medication

AUTHOR: This Report Is False - Troy (U.S.A.)

This woman came in with an attitude. She wasn't happy with anything. She and Tony made an agreement and then she kept trying to change things on the purchase agreement.
He gave her full discloser on everything. You could tell by the way she acted that she was on some form of medication.

Tony is a great salesman and NEVER ripped anyone off and shame on Rip off Report for not getting both sides to a problem before reporting. If people didn't know Tony better, he would've lost not only business that he has built up for 14 years but his reputation also.

One complaint in 14 years, I think I can live with that.
