I too have had a very bad experience with aarons, but we have been loyal customers for well over a year. We made last months payment over the phone using my check visa card ONLY after them promising me they could NOT take money out if I were to be say, late on a payment. If I wanted to set up direct drafts I would have to sign a waiver giving them permission to do so. Well this month we are behind on everything due to having to travel home to a close family funeral and at he worst possible time, they just TOOK the payment out of our account and will do nothing about it. They are liars and cheaters and will do anything to make a buck...including steal from loyal customers!!!!!!

DO NOT EVER GIVE AARONS YOUR CHECK CARD NUMBER TO MAKE A PAYMENT...THEY WILL THEN USE IT AT THEIR CONVENIENCE WHENEVER THEY DAMN WELL PLEASE.....

Easy solution

The first thing you should do when any company drafts anything from any account you have without your consent is to call your bank. If you call the bank and tell them you did not authorize the transaction they will dispute it on your behalf with the company.

At this point, the company has to produce a signed authorization or a signed receipt showing that you agreed to the transaction. If the company does not provide this then the transaction is charged back to the store and you receive your money back.

By having a Visa or Mastercard logo on your bank card you are awarded this protection. It is atleast in my region, a policy to never accept any payment by phone without a signed authorization on file.

I hope this helps, it may be too late to dispute the charge as consumers are given limited time to file a dispute. I hope this helps, I hate seeing people get ripped off, and not all of us are dishonest, but as with any company, there are indeed bad apples. Good luck.
