After calling Countrywide Home Loans about applying for a home equity loan, my husband & I found they needed numerous bits of info,attorny's fees, appraisal fee, & brought up old credit reports on file for $35 from my husband's ex-wife, even though we have OVER $50,000. EQUITY IN OUR HOUSE!!

After a few days, we wanted to avoid all that hassle so we called & cancelled. Three different people called to talk with us, we later learned they charged us a $239.00 fee for appraisal-WE DIDN'T SIGN ANYTHING! We never saw the appraiser-we thought the cancellation was done, but obviously they didn't! Why can't we get that $239.00 taken off our MasterCard??
