Yes it seems to me that a another bad car dealer gets cought doing something bad.

It is called ' Payment Packing'
Yes it is me Stick Bogart at Badbusinessbureau.com making shure the bad car dealers make the rip-off report. After reading This weeks issue of Automotive News, Issue Feb 5, 2001 I see that a car dealer gets infront of the watchful eye of the F.T.C.

This bad car dealer which is named in this story Gunderson Chevrolet with a address of 3333 Santa Anita Ave, El Monte california with a phone number of 1 (626)579-0500. This dealer is reportedly in trouble with the F.T.C. for what they call payment packing.

In my opinon they are selling extended service plans and credit insurance plans just to make more money even if the car buyer does not need what they are trying to sell. I have seen where car buyers have bought a new car on a lease for 2 years and had been talked into a extended warranty. If a car buyer is going to buy a car on a 24 month lease program, why do they need to buy a extended warranty ??????? Answer is More MONEY FOR THE CARPY CAR DEALER. And most car makers do not care if the car dealer does this deception.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has charged Gunderson Chevrolet with fraud, Deceit and misrepresentation in selling new and used cars to more than 1,500 customers. the case has been referrerd to the district attorney's office in Los Angeles, where an investigation is PENDING.

Please if you can, only finance the car and do not let the car dealer's finance manager sell you a bunch of crap like extended warrantys at inflated prices and credit life disability insurance. Most all car dealers try to sell the Extended warrantys for more than twice what they pay for them. If they say it will cost $1200 pay no more than $600. If they will not go down on the price, then do not buy it. Tell them you will PASS.

The Finance managers goals at most all car dealers.

Do you remember the last time you bought a car ?? remember the finance manager trying to sell you everything that he was talking about. Please remember he gets paid more money for everything he sells to you.

O, we must not forget that car dealers make more money if you let them get your financing for you. If you qualify for %9.9 interest and he gets you to sign a car buying contract with a interest rate of %12.9 the difference goes to the car dealer and NOT THE BANK. Learn the VALUE OF YOUR CREDIT. If the dealer gets you your financing, the rate you argee to is what I call the SUCKER'S RATE and the rate that they get you aproved for is what they call the BUY RATE.

Stop and think before going to ANY CAR DEALER.
Foot note. Do not go to web sites that want to act like they are not a car dealer but want to pretend that they are on your side. What most if not all of them do is sell all the info that you provide them to car dealers in your area. And you will still have to dealer with a car salesman that is trained to TAKE YOUR MONEY

Please understand that there is no law that states you must sign any document. If you do not like what they want you to sign, make shure they explain it in great detail before you sign ANYTHING.

Dealer Interest Rates

While I agree that car salesmen are trained to get the most they can from you, I have to disagree with your comments about finance rates. I purchased a new mini van from Sessler Ford, in Libertyville, Illinois. I had arranged financing thru my credit union, had the check cut and went to pay for the van. I inquired about the interest rate thru the dealer financing, and it turns out that they could give me a better rate. Also, just a little plug for this dealership. I was eligible for a plan thru my job, to get the vehicle at a reduced price, just a bit over what a Ford employee would pay, but Sessler was able to beat that price as well.
