Massies Mill, VAAnother bad timer that would cost $75 to replace.
We bought a used Maytag for less than it would cost to repair and will never go with Whirlpool again.

Rebuttal:
I have the same feelings, bought a new whirlpool washer from Sears. 1.5 years later it broke down no warrantee. Whirlpool says in an ugly manner that by the serial # it's a very old washer. I can't help Sears sells them years later, I thought it was that year's washer when I bought it. So I looked inside and all it needed was a $25 spider coupler and the 4 black rubber bushings $20. But the spider and the bushings are a custom made
part (Only Whirlpool) and I had to wait over 2 months to ever get it.
I contacted their web sight and that would not help speed things up other than feel good form letters and still no parts. Wasted money spent on a feel good do nothing web sight. So I went out and bought a new Neptune Maytag washer while waiting for parts. I'm a certified maintenance man by trade 27 years in maintenance fixing factory machinery and have worked on many things including Whirlpool washers from the past and this one that cost $300, the insides are extremely cheaply put together. This tiny plastic spider is very apparently made to wear out quickly so why is it so hard to get parts that I pay for?
Remember the only difference between these models it the top (timer clock) so if you buy their best you're getting the insides (mechanicals) of a cheap 2-speed washer. I didn't feel
so bad that I had purchased a cheaply made/engineered washer until I found out how hard it was to get parts to fix the thing. No more Whirlpools for me, I'll look at another brand first since having this kind of problems that Whirlpool thinks is a normal wait time for parts for cheap products.
