Ripoff Report Verified Safe

I just read another girl's ripoffreport about United Sales & Book Publishing, Inc. She said they ripped her off. I recieved a letter from them saying I could make $5-$15 an hour for stapling books together for that company. They said I will get paid before I staple the books. However, they didn't specify how I should mail these books. They just said once I mail them and send them following there instructions, I can make $5-$15 an hour. Is this a shady practice or what? Rebuttal would be helpful. Preferably positive.

STAY AWAY from them

This is/was a Santa Ana based company, they were busted in CA, so they moved their pobox to another state.
In the worst case you will not get anything. In the less worse case you get a bunch of junk.
You are responsible to copy the junk, and to send out them (on your own money). You get paid only if anybody send you money for this junk.

Btw there are very simple, cheap and fast book stampling mashines, no legit buisness pays $5-15 for this job, when with these mashines they can stample thousand of booklets per hour from less than one dollar.

Similar way there are cheap envelope stuffing mashines too, so please throw away ANY offer for stuffing job too. They are scams.

United Sales is a scam. Thanks for telling me!

Hi, thank you for letting me know about United Sales & Book Publishing Inc. I know there are a lot of companies out there who offer jobs relating to envelope stuffing of their 'special' materials. I thought, however, that this company was different, and legitmentally sent me all the photo copies and materials I needed, including postage, and all I had to do was staple it. I'm still not sure but I won't take that chance. Thanks again.

I APPRECIATE THE HEADS UP

AT THIS MOMENT I AM SITTING HERE WITH THE MONEY ORDER AND THE ENVELOPE, READY TO SEND OFF TO UNITED SALES AND BOOK PUBLISHING. JUST FOR KICKS I DECIDED TO DO A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET TO SEE IF I SAW ANYHTING CONCERNING THEIR COMPANY. I WAS VERY DISTRUBED BY THE COMMENTS I READ BUT RELIEVED TO FIND OUT BEFORE I SENT OUT MY MONEY. THEIR LETTER SOUNDS SO APPEALING AND HONEST IT WAS HARD NOT TO SEND SOMETHING TO THEM, BUT I AM GRATEFUL TO THIS WEBSITE AND ITS USERS FOR GIVING ME THE ACCURATE INFORMATION THAT I NEEDED.

HOW TO STOP THIS PERSON FROM RIPPING PEOPLE OFF

The Better Business Bureau needs to be notified of this company. I believe that you can also notify the US Post Office about this. I would also contact the attorney general about this fraud. Perhaps a lawsuit should be filed to stop this person. Although no one knows the actual address or phone # the post office or location where the post office box is should be able to know the identity of this person.

If you sent a check you can get a copy of the cancelled check from your bank showing who cashed it. If money order you can notify the company or bank where you purchased the money order and they should be able to get you a copy of who cashed it. And if you payed cash, well then there's no hope except that you can join with everyone who has been ripped off before and stop this from happening to someone else.

I received a copy of the letter and never responded. Anytime I get a letter for a home business I check with the US Post Office the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and the internet for information about the company. I have yet to find a company that you can work from home that is legit. Thanks for listening and I hope this helps. God Bless

Almost Gave In, I Googled the company name & landed here.

I received the Booklet Stapling solicitation in the mail the other day & discussed it with my husband. We knew it was too good to be true, but weren't sure where the catch was. I assumed i would be paying to re-mail out the booklets, since that was never mentioned, and that explained why they might pay a little more.

Today I Googled 'booklet stapling' & found a lawsuit from CA. I found the scam. They mail you 'how to make $ from home' booklets, will sell you mailing lists, or you can place advertisements in the paper... hoping for those few checks to float in.

Then I Googled the company name & landed here. The internet is a GREAT tool! Unfortunately, those without it can't access this kind feedback. Tell others in your office, church, neighborhood when you find out the truth about such scams. Some people don't have the resources to really dig deep, because it Sounds Great!

Thanks to the Internet and for your service!

I wanted to tell everyone that thanks
to my computer and the Internet, I saved
over 100 dollars by checking this scam
of a company out today...fortunately I was
able to cancel my check payment that I had
sent yesterday, with my bank..I knew it sounded
too good to be true..but I was suckered into
it..almost..by the lure of fairly easy riches
working at home...thank god for our computers!
I only lost 20 bucks(S.P.bank fee) compared to
159.00...whew! Im relieved!!

I hope and pray this crook gets caught soon
before anyone else gets riped off.

Thanks again for your service!

Constructive Solution

I received this letter to staple booklets, my suggestion to anyone is that if you have to pay money in any shape form or fashion to make money, it is a 'RIP-OFF'. When you apply for a real job you don't have to pay to receive that job and get a paycheck, so therfore you shouldn't have to pay to make money from home unless you are establing your own legitimate home business.

New Promotion

Hello,
Just wanted to give everyone the 'heads up' on a possible new scam by United Sales & Book Publishing, Inc. This morning I recieved a letter in my mailbox, no return address, just a p.o. box in N. Miami Beach Fl. This letter promises that if you send in an application fee, they will get you started stuffing envelopes. I became suspicious when I could not locate an actual address or phone number, so I typed the name into yahoo's search engine, and ended up here. Although I have not sent them any money, I find it hard to imagine that this isn't just another scam like the 'book stapling' scam in an attempt to get money from the unsuspecting public.

I Just Got My Invitation to be Ripped-Off

October 25, 2004 - I just recieved my invitation to staple booklets and make money in advance. Luckily for me, I know to search the the web to investigate these companies to see if they're a honest to god company or just another scam. It saddens me that there are people out there ripping other people off for their money just to get ahead in this dog eat dog world. I am currently getting ready to lose every thing, including my apartment due to a back surgery that failed. I will never be able to work a regular job again. In essense, I could of been one those that were ripped off by United Sales & Book Publishing, Inc. These kind of people should be arrested and put in jail for ever, and I mean jailed with the kind of people who will 'Take Care of Them', you know what I mean.
Thank You for allowing me to add my comments.

I just want to say thank you to all the people who have honestly come here to this site to warn other people about this scam. I recieved a letter from them to stuff envelopes. I am so glad I decided to check them out. Everyone that told on this company could save some desperate mother, who has no money to spare, from being ripped off. A lot of people who get ripped off keep quiet but I want to thank all of you that decided to try and end this scam. I am so sorry that you were ripped off but just think of how many people you have helped.
