ADebt Relievers and attorney at law Dennis McDevitt ripoff, fraud, scam artists, liars in the name of 'debt relievers' ripoff business from hell ripoff business from hell What a JOKE .....

Debt Relivers-should be called Get you into more debt. It all started last fall. I lost my mother due to rapid growing cancer. She had NO funeral benefits. Being that I was the primary caregiver plus working a full time job, I had mounted up some debt and saw and ad for debt relivers as a way to consolidate and lowere monthly payments. At this time, I really needed to do this-- I thought.

I applied for a debt consolidation program through a lady named Julie Romano--at least that is what I thought I was doing. I sent a $416 money order to her to pay for my first month's consolidation program. After a few weeks I heard nothing still, I called and called. Finally I got a hold of another person Mandy who kept givign me the run around. They informed me that the $416 a month I agreed to pay was not enough and they would have to raise it to about $500 a month. I told them I could NOT afford that much because that would be way more than I was already paying!

This program was supposed to SAVE me monthly costs not cost more! I fianlly asked for my refund since it had been 2 months and they had not signed me up for ANY program-meanwhile bills kept mounting and mounting-I was told that they would take care of the bills don't worry about them. Finally after getting some of my accounts closed -not by me-and creditors calling, I decided I HAD to go ahead and make the payments. Meanwhile NO word from debt relievers except someone I got a hold of who said they USED to work with them but they stopped because they were no longer reliable and she did not know what they were even doing!

Around January of this year I contacted the Better Business Bureau-mistake number 2! They claimed to have been representing me on my behalf and working with debt relievers and Mr. McDevitt, months passed, I would enquire-still nothing just telling me to be patient it woul take another 4-6 weeks by this time it was about may. I waited, finally I wrote back again after the waiting period-past the 6 weeks, still nothing, until I sent a fourth or 5th inquiry as to what was going on. The BBB told me that Mr. McDevitt claimed they could never get a hold of me to return my money-I have a listed number, answering machine and valid address. He even claimed he sent me a check for the $416-another big lie!!!

I told the BBB that it was a lie, they did not respond for months-only a couple of weeks ago to tell me they could not resolve the dispute and did not give me any other options or reasons why........not even to explain how Mr. McDevitt wrote them such a huge lie! I asked the BBB if they would ask him to send them the cancelled check, because he NEVER sent me a dime!!

What a POOR business-taking advantage of people who are aready in debt-getting them farther and farther into debt and stealing there money claiming that they did not do anything at all. Worst of all the Better Business Bureau is just as guilty not making much of an effort at all on my behalf!! NEVER again, next time I have a problem of any kind, I am going straight to the Attorney General's office, I KNOW THEY will get something done.

I don't know which company is the bigger rip off, Debt Relieves aka Law offices of Dennis McDevitt, OR the Better Business Bureau! I have about as much faith in BBB as I do Debt Relievers!

PLEASE STAY away from ANY group called Debt Reliever-they are probably all the same-BIG TIME SCAM ARTISTS!!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about “consumer confidence" when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it’s paid for!
