Ripoff Report Verified Safe

I bought a 'used' 2000 Ford Focus in May of 2000 that had 12,000 miles on it. Since then, I have sent it for so many repairs and recalls that it has become ridiculous.

I have had the radio replaced twice and it still goes out. The right side A/C has leaked and been replaced. The battery has been replaced twice. My clutch was recalled and even though they 'repaired' it, I still have trouble shifting.

My trunk does not close after 3 repairs. My outside trim is peeling after they repaired it. My drivers seat has separated again after 1 repair. My speedometer continuously goes out. My doors creak. The alarm goes off continuously.

The rubber trim around the headlights have been replaced. The car stalls sometimes. There is a loud vibration noise.

While still under warranty, I tried to explain this to Ford but their answer was 'These are just problems that happen with any 'almost new' car. I still owe almost $10,000.00.

Why does this happen? I am ready to just let it go.

2000 Ford Focus-Bolts Holding Engine Came Out, Any advice anyone?

On 1/26/03, my son and I were turning into a mall and heard a loud boom. I slowly pulled into a parking space and when trying to leave that space, I could no longer shift.

My 10 YEAR OLD SON had to push me out of the stream of traffic. When my husband arrived, he almost fainted. The bolts securing my motor had loosened and my motor had dropped, destroying my axle, oil was everywhere.

My warranty expired at 36,000 miles and I have approximately 44,000 now. Ford refuses to acknowledge the fact that this is a defect and they have provided me with a 'visual' estimate for repairs of $1,340.00, noting that once the car is hoisted onto a lift, it is possible that it will cost more.

They have 'graciously' agreed to pay HALF. How nice. I still owe approximately $10,000.00. I have no car and am going to lose my job. What about that Ford? Any advice anyone.

LETS ALL JOIN TOGETHER & FIGHT FORD MOTOR CO.

I have complained to Dept. of Consumer Affairs, local news, local radio, local newspapers, and I am continuing to try and reveal what Ford Motor Company is really all about. If I can get rebuttals, I will include this in my paperwork that will be sent out with my complaint forms. Maybe it will help. Thanks.

Ready to Travel to Ford Motor in Michigan with Paperwork

I am ready and willing to travel to Ford Motor Headquarters in Michigan and present all paperwork that I have proving that they are aware of their defective 2000 Ford Focus. If anyone else is gutsy enough to do this, please respond. I am tired of being taken advantage of by Ford Motor. Thanks.

Ford should be ashamed - 2000 Ford Focus SE

2000 Ford Focus-40,000 miles, bought brand new 0 miles(1st brand new car I might add)I have never experienced anything like the horror flick I am in since purchasing this grand, 'Ford Car of The Year!' I have had a total of 9 recalls (1st recall informed me that the rear wheels may seperate from the car causing a crash)am working on my second set of tires due to improper wear on the back tires particulary the left tire. 1st set of tires purchased at Sears service tech said the wear was due to a bad suspension on 02/2002. On 05/2003 car is once again making a loud thuding noise sounds like a flat tire I pull into a Wal-Mart service station only to find out the same exact thing has happened and with the same response, bad suspension. As of today my car sits at Jones Ford getting the 9th recall worked on and once again Ford can not find anything wrong w/my suspension. My car makes awful noise like it is 100 years old. It sounds like it is going to blow something in the engine (whistle sound)when I run through a mud puddle. My radio shuts off 45% of the time when changing channels. The engine out of the blue sounds like it is trying to shift into neutral while driving & seems to lose power. The car creeks when turning. The blind spots are very dangerous in this car. And when you ride over a bump it feels as though you may be bottoming out (shocks). Have you ever tried to peddle a bicycle up a hill or a bridge? No need too, just buy a Ford Focus you get the same exhausting, hauling experience!!!!

Getting anything done is like pulling teeth from a toothless man from the service dept. they refuse to give me a rental car because they say my warranty does not cover it but they can not give me a est. time figure because they are busy w/other cars not just mine. I really wish someone could do something I no longer feel safe in this vehicle! I feel like Ford knows the 2000 Focus should be a total recall. I do not feel that Ford stands behind their products and I am scared to death this car is headed for the junk yard with a hefty price tag still attached!

MORE 2000 FORD FOCUS PROBLEMS

Thank you Michele of Oak Island, North Carolina for responding to my complaint about 2000 Ford Focus. I am now stalling out while driving. All lights flash on panel, radio and a/c shuts down, engine stalls while driving. I have been in danger of a car hitting me from behind over 100 times now. Ford Dealership tells me since warranty has expired that will cost me over $600.00 to find out my problem. I am currently in contact with National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) in Washington. If anyone else is having engine stalling problems, please respond. They will investigate if there are enough complaints.

Sh** Box

this car is horrible.

i bought my 2000 focus zx3 in june 2004. thank god i bought a warranty on it because it has problems. it all started about a week ago when i was driving down the highway, and my transmission slipped out of gear.

it was during the day so iwas like man, its a transmission. my car has 30000 miles on it what the hell is going on.

well the problem has been getting worse to the point that it is barely driviable. what is happenening now is the headlights shut off, the tranny slips than the lights come back on. sounds like an electrical problem, but when i brought it to the dealer, they found a loose ground wire and said that was the problem. later that day and $150 later, it started having the same problem except worse. this is rediculous, this car is my fourth Ford but the only one i've been displeased with. (beyond displeasure-> i hate it!) the car is currently at the dealer.

lets see what happens this time.
