In a sincere act to get my bills together and never have a straggling late bill again I thought a debt managment company would help, I was very mistaken. Don't ever sign up for one of these. My credit is ruined, my credit card companies revoked my credit- didn't even know what that was until I spoke with them about it.

DMCC does not tell you about all of the bad marks that go against your credit reports for signing up with them. It actually does more harm than good to try to fix your credit with a company like this. I have paid them 2 months worth of credit card payments and still none of them have been paid. Not only has my credit been revoked but all of my accounts are delinquent. Now that I have paid them they no longer hound me on the phone on a daily basis, however, now that I need answers, I only get transferred and hung up on.

I am canceling my service with them at a great cost to me and my future. At such a young age I am learning that for the next 7 years my horrible credit history will follow me and I will probably be punished for it by not being able to buy my first house when I planned and not be able to buy a new car, all the things you think you can do after you graduate and finally get your career.

Have had NO problems with DMCC

I signed up with DMCC exactly 2 years ago and I have been very satisfied with their service. They configured a payment schedule that I could afford and stated that my acocunts will be paid off within 26 months of me beginning the program. I have only 1 more payment to make on my remaining credit card debt, and, once that payment is made, I will get back my initial downpayment with DMCC.

Whenever one of my accounts have been paid to zero (0), I have made sure to call DMCC and update them about my account to make sure that they were not over-paying my creditors. After corresponding with them about my accounts, DMCC would check with that particular creditor to make sure that the account is paid up - and they have been very good about updating their records.

There was even a situation where, after accepting 6 months worth of payments toward their accout, one of my creditors began returning the payments to DMCC. One of DMCC's representatives scheduled a 3-way conference call with me and this particular creditor to find out why the creditor was revoking the contract he/she signed regarding the minimum payments to be made on this account. The DMCC representative, the creditor, and I came up with a satisfactory solution to the problem.

I have learned that with most debt management companies, your credit card accounts will almost always be closed until your balance is paid up; and if you would like to re-open those accounts, you have to contact the creditor directly. Which makes sense; because the point is to pay off your credit card debt, not keep a 'revolving account' status. If you want to keep the account you have 'open', then contact the creditor about making payment arrangements to bring down the balance on your account. They usually agree to fixed monthly payments at a low or no interest rate for at least 6 months.

I have checked my credit report several times during this debt management process and none of my accounts have been reflected in a negative way. These accounts all state that 'consumer is paying or paid as agreed.' There is no mention of these accounts being handled by a consumer credit agency. But, then again, it is at the discretion of the creditor how they want to report your status with them.

Maybe you misunderstood how the process works. But, as I have stated before, I have not had a problem with DMCC. So far, they have been honest about their efforts in helping me to pay off my credit card debt.

Thank You
