Aztec Tile Co. used to be a successful Union Tile Installation Company until it was recently bought a year ago from a Non-Union Flooring (carpet) Company that wanted to add Tile flooring jobs to the company with hopes to expand their business. Many changes were made in the last year when new owner, David Baca (Pro Racer) started to take over Aztec Tile Co., which is a Union Shop.

NON-UNION WORKERS at UNION JOBS:
Dedicated workers who have been with Aztec for many years (6+ years) were being used for their skill, dedication and good repor with the major developers like Kaufman & Broad. After slowly blending in their non-union workers with these union tracks, All-State Floors dba Aztec Tile Co. started to get rid of their Union workers slowly, one by one. Wait, it get's better...after new ownership, the accounting or payroll seemed to be unexperienced, unorganized, and unknowledgeable and evidently created many financial burdens for these union employees. All-State/Aztec was not sending in the monthly union deposits/fees on time (but these fees where promptly deducted from the employee's payroll!),they didn't have enough money in some months to do this....but, hmm, where was that payroll deduction going to??! They're still behind with vacation account deposits and many employees are behind with union dues because of this negligence!

MISLED WORKERS:
This company would have their top Tile Finishers do the jobs of Journeyman Tile Setters so they wouldn't have to pay them at a setter's salary! They used these workers by misleading them and making them think they were classified as Journeyman Tile Setters but never gave them an increase in pay, and never informed the union of their work status level!

UNDERPAID, USED & MANIPULATED AN EMPLOYEE:
They treated my husband like a Tile Setter, gave him a helper, a work truck, and the Setter's responsibilities...but my husband never got an increase in salary or upgrade in status as promised from his superior, John in the warehouse....and after 7 months of being misled, under paid, used to basically train the non union workers unknowingly, they suddenly decided to drop the union workers without any kind of notice, and this has impacted my husband, emotionally and financially! They've failed to notify the Union of his classification status (as Setter)...and this can cause my husband to be screwed when trying to find another job, because he won't get paid what he's worth!

I strongly believe this company should be investigated by the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No.3 Union as well as the Labor Board & Contractor's Licensing Board, for the way it treated their union employees...and maybe an Audit should be done as well, real soon, so employess can know what happened to the vacation funds they never got in which has already been deducted from their checks!

And To David Baca: 'What goes around....comes around!' Or maybe you wouldn't know this...must be the fumes from your poor ass funny car! Give up the racing and start paying more attention to your business you know nothing about! Watch Out Developers!
