Garden State Auto Auction is a Real Scam!!

I am writing this to warn any consumer who is planning to buy a car to not go to this dealer because they ripped me off big time.

I first saw the BMW 1997 which i liked on their web site, www.gardenstateauto.com
printed out the web site and went to their dealer its located on the 1&9 in Elizabeth, NJ. I spoke to these smooth talking guy Ernesto and he seemed like a nice guy. Oh boy, what a big mistake! What a spineless salesmen! He sold me a piece of crap lemon from a repo. This shady guy told me the car was in good condition, that he could not negotiate the internet price because the cars are owned by the bank! You tell me these guys sell cars for banks? I didn´t know Bank of America needs wise guys to help them sell lemons.

The truth is that they buy most of their cars from Bordentown, NJ. They buy if from dealers auction at very low prices, then they tell customers that the cars belong to the bank, so they cant go below their internet price! That is pure bullsh**! I bet you when they go to hell they will admit it!

I put a 4000$ down payment and financed, but the transmission in the car was bad! But how incredible that Ernesto this guy who looks gay talked alot of crap did not know that the tranmission in the car he sold me was shit! The car did not last me one day! Then he told me that I can't get my money back but I can switch to another car! All of their cars suck!! I had to take a car I didn´t like and I have had so many problems with it even now its sitting in my drive way and I'm still paying the damn financing guy Rich the biggest as*hole in the world the fu**ing old guy who looks like the devil. And that's why I'm writin this report so that this won't happen to anyone else! I hate these guys! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM GARDEN STATE AUTO AUCTION! IF YOU BUY FROM THEM YOU WILL DRIVE A LEMON, NOT A CAR.

These guys are real sh**. I tell you, I know a lot of dealers are slime balls, but these guys are the worst slimeballs I have ever seen. If you go there, you can tell they do not have a decent education, just by the way they talk to you, and promise you things they won't do. They are suspicious people, I would not be surprised if these wise guys are a brood of the black market, mobsters, since many of their cars look stolen or damaged.

I don't care what they say anymore. I am not afraid of them, I fear God not men. I will keep paying for the car but I will tell everyone I know how these people ripped me off. I dont need justice from anyone, because I know the almighty will deal with all dishonest bad people. For now they can continue to get their dirty money, but one day God will judge them.

But you should stay away from them. I don't want anyone else to have to live with the feeling of getting robbed. Buy a car from a legit dealership like Toyota or Honda.

I think the Greek Mafia is behind it, and the Cubans too.

I hope they go to hell.

I'm confused... unless there was a gun and a mask involved

Sounds like you were unhappy from the second you opened the door to this place. You say you HAD to take this car, but unless there was a gun and a mask involved, I'm pretty sure no dealer can force you to buy anything.

You also said you put down $4,000.00 and are financing the car and paying this guy 'Rich'. Who is holding the lien on the car? How many miles are on the car? Which model 97 BMW did you buy? Did you buy the car 'As-Is'? These are all things the Advocates would need to know to help you out with this problem.

And just as an aside, to say this man Ernesto is gay is just plain silly. Number one, if the store is run by the greek mafia (you are kidding, right? Hardly think organized crime is particularly interested in running a dealership of all things...) and you're insinuating something which isn't true about an employee, you could have a bigger problem on your hands than just a car which doesn't run. Number two, it destroys your credibility - who cares if the guy is gay or not gay? Does being gay make him a bad person? Does it make him more likely to rip you off?

Like most of the problems people complain about on Rip Off Report with dealerships, this could likely have been resolved had you kept your temper in check and approached the dealership professionally. If you walk into the dealership and present the problem in a calm and collected manner, a reputable store is quite likely going to attempt to do what it can to make you happy, or at the very least, unwind the deal and give you back your money. Bad business breeds itself- once you start trying to take advantage of people word gets around and you end up losing business because of it. If indeed this store is as horrible as you say, why did you buy the car from them in the first place? You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a car dealership in Northern New Jersey, there are plenty of other places you could have gone, and a lot of used BMW's all over the place. If you make a bad decision and then storm into the place half-cocked screaming bloody murder, they're just going to toss you right out and let you deal with your problem on your own.

I'd suggest you call the General Manager of the store, explain the situation, and apologize for flying off the handle. You'll more than likely get some kind of satisfaction out of it, even if you have to eat a little crow to get it. Just call and ask them to help you, and keep the threats of law-suits out of the conversation. Plenty of time for that later if it comes to it, but it's easier to just try to get them to take the car back and return your money now than go through the hell of a lawsuit. Potentially you could sue them for triple damages if you were sold a car with a bad title (I'd run a carfax and check that mileage were I you...), but something like that could take years to resolve.

Just try to get them to help you first- you get more flies with honey and all that.

Good luck!

Thank You
