I purchased an Apple Powerbook G4 from Scott La Plant for my daughter for Christmas. The Powerbook was being sold on ebay. The bid price was nowhere close to what he wanted to sell it for so he cancelled the auction to sell it to me as a private party. (Listen to what ebay says. If you are dealing with a dishonest person or fraud, you have no recourse, even if you use Paypal (bank draft). His payment did not accept credit cards. DO NOT buy items if it is not through ebay. I learned my lesson)

My payment to him was immediate, after we agreed on a price and method of shipment. After Scott La Plant received my money, everything slowed down. He told me numerous times he would send it, but would not send me the tracking number. I paid for FedEX overnight shipping and he sent it UPS ground. It took over three weeks to receive the Powerbook. When I received it, cables and adapters were missing and the insight camera that was to be included was missing. I told him how disappointed I was, with the deceptive and dishonest way he transacted business. Then I received this email from him:

'I've been away (in San Antonio) on business/work and was not around for the New Year with my wife nor, was I near a computer.

First, I'm going to say this and if you don't like it, too bad. I do not have deceptive behavior you fuck! My wife sent it as I had a work emergency and she was not aware. She sent it the cheapest way possible, unbeknownst to me. As soon as I get back home I'll refund your money.

If you pester me one more time, or acuse me of things that are just not true or speak before knowing all the facts, I'll block your email and be done with you and the whole sorry ordeal - you asshole! Me deceptive? This from the guy who wanted to 'protect himself' at my expense?

Kiss my *** you spic! When I get home, I'll refund your money so sleep better now. Btw, I'll be home Thursday'

It is now four months later and I have yet to receive any refund. He has ignored my last few emails.

I post this on 'Rip-off Report' to warn others in doing business with Scott La Plant. I was very surprised at the language Scott La Plant used in his letter, especially when he called me a 'spic'. When you do business with people, you often do not see their true character until they have received your money. In this case, after reading his letter to me, you be the judge of Scott La Plant's character. Also, DO NOT do business with someone on ebay when they contact you outside of the auction and always use a credit card when buying online.
