Glen Campbell, PennsylvaniaIn 2001 or 2002 we received a phone call to our Mom and Pop business where we make custom made, solid hardwood, entry doors. The company, now a third named owner, aka Sharednet.com, said they would advertise our doors. I said I wanted to see the ad before they ever put it on the web. The representative sure, they'd do that.
I never heard anymore from them until I got a phone call from a person who said they had seen our aluminum doors on the web. Well, we don't make aluminum doors. So I asked where and it was the company that is now called 'Sharednet.com'.
I called them up and said to get us off their web site. They said I had said I wanted it. I said 'never', they were advertising something we didn't even make.
Then we started getting Sharednet bills on our home telephone bill. They did apparently cancel the web site but have been dunning us ever since for the phone bills.
The AG of CA said if they threatened to send the report to the credit companies he would intervene. Apparently it was a paper threat. Shared net is sending the bad credit to those companies.
Now I have to pay $89.95 for a service I didn't want, did not ask for. I am so irked. What can I do?
