there is plenty of information out there on thwe web about this group but my personal expereince i will keep short. first off i dont believe this chruch minstry was a cult but a controlling church with too many convictions turned into a group conviction which turned intoa sort of standard doctrine.

these are my top 10 problems with the geftakys assembly.
and these are not in any particular order,

1. there were no financial statements provided as to where the money went to. you coould not write a check on a sunday morning, everyhting done in cash. On the flip side i never saw any begging or any crazy fundraising gimmicks and for that i will provide a plus.

2. George G did all the seminars, basically the talks. Jusst seemed like there should have beem more opportunities for otheres to teach bring message. his seminars were over the top. His messages were thoughtful, organized, but very difficult to follow since he would sometimes turn to literallly close to a hundred verses during any one seminar. the seminars were free and the saints in different cities would open their homes. that was really cool. And a tremendous blessing.

3. the homes some people lived in were in house training. there were good and bad aspects to this but no biblical basis.

4. many of the leaders would decide what your personal calling was in life that was terribly wrong.
5. too religious at times with attending meetings. thu out the week ( worship, blible studies prayer times witnessing, etc..
get burnout real quickly.

6. authority within the church no biblical basis for leading brothers goofy language they invented from brethren history. see website for details.

7. no tvs in home. this a personal conviction but they took it too far.

8. dating relationships see website but they did desire puritybut the way they practically implemented these steps was little craZy.

9. enforeced all brothers to preach took out of context the use of gifts and calling here see website for more.

10. George g himself accusations from other fellowships on use of authority, use of discipline, christian practices, using other works and taking credit for himself(stealing), and sexual misconduct.
