Ripoff Report Verified Safe

While interacting with vistaprint.com while making small stationary purchases on several occasions over the past 6 months with 2 separate credit cards, I was unkowingly 'subscribed' to a an unknown 'service' by a company which is described by Vista Print customer service as an 'online 'affiliate company' (VPRewards & Passporttofun) and which apparently shares some of its rip-off profits with Vista Print which I previously thouight was a legitimate company.

Vista Print provided the stationary products purchased but my 2 separate credit cards were charged $14.95 per month by merchant entries on my cc statement such as 'passportofun' and 'vprewards'. I didn't notice the unauthorized charges right away, and the charges accrued monthly on each card for 5 months. When you call Vista Print customer service they said I subscribed on-line to this service, but when I asked what the service was exactly he waffled and really had no answer.

My e-mail to Vista Print protesting the charges resulted in a reply from a 'kathleen' at membercare@dealpass.com informing me that the membership will be cancelled as of 6/13/2006 (no mention about all the unauthorized charges accrued monthly from the past 6 months before on 2 separate credit cards. There is no information such as an address or means to reply other than treference to www.dealpass.com which is a website promoting many things but no customer service----dead end. No direct reply from Vista Print though.

Time will tell whether these charges will keep coming and if I'll have to close my credit cards accounts to stop them or if they will cease and desist. I have disputed the charges with my CC companies ---see what develops --- will keep you posted.

Reason for the Passport to fun charges thru Vista Print

I just discovered VistaPrint.com and love their service. I have been very pleased with all of my recent orders that I have placed for business cards. I have used various designs for my business with different peoples name on the card and have no complaints.

But the reason I believe You are getting charged for Passport to Fun or Deal Pass is because at the end of the order, there is a screen that asks you to fill out a survey and you will receive $10.00 back on your order (or something like that), and it goes on and tells you to put in your email address and submit. But it also tells you that you are signing up for Passport to Fun and that you will be charged a monthly service fee for that membership. I almost fell into that the first time I ordered, because if you don't read that whole screen very carefully, it is easy to miss. I got as far as almost hitting the submit button and caught myself in just a nick of a second. So it is not that they are selling your credit card information to anyone, it's just that you didn't read the fine print of what you were signing up for after the survey. The information is to the left of the survey, (located out of the survey box).

So as long as you don't do the survey and say 'no thanks' on the survey screen, which also forfeits the $10.00 back, then you will be fine and no charges will appear on your credit card. I hope that helps you understand why you are most likely being charged that charge.

Now on the other hand, about Passport to Fun, I have been with them for almost a year now and love their service. I ordered something on the telephone and I was asked if I wanted to try their service for free for a month and then I could cancel at any time before the 30 days were up, so I agreed. When I went to cancel they offered me a great deal to try it for a year, so I paid what they quoted me and am very happy I did. I order gift certificates from them and recieve $5.00 back on each of my gift certificates at the end of the month. My two favorite cards are Target and Olive Garden (or you have a choice of three other restuarants on the gift card, Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, and I can't remember the last restuarant). It is like going to Target and spending $25.00 and only paying $20.00. If you had 2 of them you would save $10.00. They offer great deals for many other services too, for example: Tickets for Universal Studios, Disneyland, and etc. They also sell discounted movie tickets. When you order, you do not even have to pay shipping and handling charges and you get them almost immediately. I personally get mine usually within 3 business days. They are fast!

I usually don't respond like this, but I use both companies and have found them to be wonderful. I just want people to be aware of why they are being charged that charge, so they can be aware of what they are doing on that one screen after you place your order from Visa Print. Just say 'No Thanks' to the survey.

Reading The Small Print

Sandra, I use to work for the company you are referring to and I must say you put it better than I could of. The problem is that people are in such a rush now that they just click away on the computer screed and just want whatever is FREE {i.e $10.00 cash back or a $25.00 Wal-mart gift card} that they don't pay attention to what they are signing up for. Nothing is free!

I am glad you are one of the few people that actually took the time to read the offer details and stick up for a program that has worked for you and millions of other happy customers! Thanks!

VPrewards is not a scam!

I used VistaPrint for all my printing and they are a good Company. I am tried of Customers giving the Company a bad name simple because they don't spend time to read the $10.00 cash back.

VistaPrint sends all their promotions via email or their website. So if you are offered $10.00 cash back PLEASE READ! Don't just click away at every page and enter your email, because you maybe signing up for something you don't need and don't even remember that you have done so after a few days.

For those who say they never received their $10.00 cash back this is what you need to do to redeem the money: If you don't have a SPAM blocker on your computer. 2-4hrs after joining the program you would have receive an email with your membership ID# just simply click through the link which takes you to dealpass.com enter your ID# and zip code to redeem your cash or vprewards.com to learn more about the program.

Also 7-10 days after joining you receive another email stating that you have joined the program and you will be charged after 30 days $14.95, you can cancel at anytime by clicking the cancel option or call VistaPrint customer service 1-800-961-2075.

Please remember you are purchasing on the internet and all online Companies have Affiliate Partnership who offers to sell you something or the other. Please read carefully before entering your email address or selecting any offers except for what you are purchasing. If you are not sure about something just take up the phone and call Customer Service at 1-800-961-2075 it is that simple!

Also don't you think if VistaPrint was ripping off people they would be out of business a long time ago?

solution to ripoff claims

take these ads away from the end of the order process!!!!!

that would do much in the way of people claiming these companies are ripoffs.

they offered me 10.00 off of my order. so i accepted. the fine print must have been real fine! if these ads are there, people want the discount. if vistaprint or any of the other companies have no intention of giving the discount, the ads should not be there. if the ads are not theirs, then the ads should not be apart of their order processing. they should not pop up in this part of the order. if the companies are as good as you claim, they should realize that they are reducing their opportunities of repeat customers for this reason.

i was planning on using them again with my actual design. now that i have gone through this.... i dont know if i will.

vistaprint should remove these ads from their order process.... fine print or not!!!!!!

Thank You
