My mother and I went to the interview in Rockville MD with approximately 200 other girls and I was selected by Mr Dwight Angors to be at the model expo. He told us that we would not need any money bacuse if a company wants you as a model they would not ask for money. Well that was one thing that made us think it was legitamate. So the next step was the photoshoot.
At this step the Mr Agnor said that we were not obligated to use his professional photgraphers. But we would run the risk of not being allowed to enter the expo with unprofessional pictures. Saying that made me nerveous so I asked my father for the money to use Mr Angor's prfessional photgraphers for a small fee of $395.00 plus $35 for the disc in which he said would be used incase the agents wanted extra pictuers.
My mother took me to the photoshoot in Fairfax Va at the hotel. He Mr Dwight Agnor had the family of the potential models set up in a big room there we had little make up done. On the site and it was told to bring atleast 15 outfit to change in for the photoshoot they only allowed 2 and we crossed dressed in those. the set up was very unprofessional and you had to pay before any thing could take place and after the shoot there was no refund policy set up.
My picture came unevenly spaced not centered and dark. Some of them did not come out at all and most look the same. very unprofessional. The portfolio was put together by KinKo's so I had to spend $70.00 more dollars for that so I thought. We did not even have to show the pictures inorder to enter the expo so that was a lie. And once we arrived at the expo there were about 30 wave of model hopefuls and I was in the last wave of model hopefuls so most of the so cxalled agents had left when my group came up to show our pictures and most of the reemaining agent did not even look at the portfolio.
I felt so bad I came home and cried for two days so my father whom had spent this money. He decided to check Mr Agnor record and found that he has done this before. Playing on the emotions of young expiring model hopefuls and bring in those fake photographers and make up artist taking youg people for a rip off.

Dwight Agnor's Model Expo
My Name is Kim **** Below is from a newpaper in NYC, I was on a soap opera at one time while I lived in NYC. I myself went to Dwight Agnor's Model Expo and never had a problem. I went back 1988 and in 1989, I did not get signed my first time going, I had a bigger dream. No one can stop your dreams if your dreams is big enough. My favorite quote is 'Failure will never over come me as long at MY will to succeed is strong enough.
I started Acting and Modeling, working in Grand Rapids, Chicago and Detroit. I did print ads and commercials for some very large companies, Steelcase, Amway, Herman Miller, Meijers, Gilmores Dept. stores, Rogers Dept. stores, and Dayton Hudsons, start taking acting classes at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and appearing in plays. I went to a modeling and acting convention where I met an agent from New York City and he said, 'hey, if you come to New York City, we'll represent you.'' So this bright, articulate and soft spoken Aries made his way to the Big Apple to pursue his real dream of acting. I've studied at some of the most prestigious schools in New York City 'The Neighborhood Playhouse, New Actor Workshop, Terry Schrieber Studios, Weist-Barron' and with some of the most respected teachers in the business,' he added enthusiastically. I also managed 'The Coffee Shop' a very trendy cafe while I honed my craft. I was on a soap opera for two years, I've done about twenty five commercials, been in a Madonna video, twelve films and in two hundred print ads. This was written 10 years ago. I have gone on to do much more. Stop worrying about what other people say. I have spent over $20,000 dollars going to acting school, getting new headshots every 6 months, this is a business and treat it as a business. You have to spend money period!!! Headshots cost $300 to $500 every 6 months, this is out tool of the trade. Please people learn the business before you go out and try to hurt a man's charactor because you did not get pick and a model/actor convention. Dwight has been doing the expos for 20 years and some of us have done very well as actor or models. We took to chance, did not let anyone get in our ways and we have been on the covers of magazines, been in soap operas, been in commercials, or have done hundreds of print ads, I know personally several of Dwights other model or actors who have been discovered by him! or maybe they just discovered themselves and the path (the Secret) or the doors were open for them. Learn the business, go to Dwight's expo and go to win. I feel sorry for those of you who go there and you walk in the door and think? is this for real! you are already lost with thinking that way. Please watch 'The Secret' learn the 'Law of Attraction' you will be much more successful in your journey. Dwight's expo are real and it delivers results, I'm one of those. There are people complaining about Model Search NYC and I would just like to say that my daughter went through the process. The Photo Shoot and the Expo and unfortunatlly she wasn't what they were looking for, but the thing was legit. My daughter is a beautiful young girl and I'm not just saying that because she is my daugter, she really is beautiful, drop dead georgous! I can understand why they didn't pick her because she is only 5'4' and she is very shy and she was so scared that she forgot to smile at the judges for God sakes, those are not qualities that they look for in models and she also understood and shook it off and will try harder next time. Sure it hurt her feelings and she cried but that is a very tough business to be in and if being rejected was all it took to get these people that hurt, then that was probably not her destiny anyway. Rejection is a part of life.
At fist I thought the pictures of my daughter were pretty crappy and the quick make up job, but now that I have been watching America's Top Model I can see that they are like that with the models, we just don't have an eye for the photo's. They probably would have been better had my daughter knew what 'she' was doing, but again lack of experience shoed on the pictures and she will just have to try harder next time. I think model search nyc is the best modeling scouts out there. Everybody doesn't have what it takes.

Unfortunately, the person who wrote this doe not identify themselves so there is no way to know if this person was really a participant or just one of the model scams that charge thousands of dollars and made all this up to discredit us.

Many models have their own pictures or use their own photographers to have their pictures made for the Expo.
For those who do not have their own pictures we contract great photogrpahers and make-up artists to come to their area and provide a tremendous photogrpahy service for a very low rate of just $395...that includes make-up, styling and shooting with 2 different photographers. MODELS DO NOT HAVE TO USE THIS PHOTOGRPAHY SERVICE TO ATTEND THE MODEL EXPO!!!
In additon .. THERE IS A 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE!!! If for any reason models do not like their pictures we give them all their money back....no questions asked. Less than 1% ever ask for their money back. Why???...because the pictures are awesome!!! These are all professional photographers from New York and Miami and everybody LOVES their pictures.
This complaint claims that this person did not like her pictures..that her pictures were terrible. If that is true, then why didn't she ask for her money back??? The answer is obvious, isn't it??? It's because none of this is true.
The fact is that this person probably never really did her pictures with us at all. We have found that most of the complaints on these sites are just as phonyas this one. These sites are used by bad people who know they can make up anything they want and never get caught because nobody knows who they are. For all we know this complaint is not even from a 'girl' at all. It might be from some creepy model scam artist who thinks he can fool people with this garbage.
These bulletin board sites are a joke.
