I filed bankruptcy in 2003 due to bills from a previous marriage. I was always broke and didn't get a to see my credit report till late 2005. I had 2 bills totaling $53 to Waste Management in PA and paid them both. I paid them $51.39, not $53.00 as they stated on my credit report! They also sent me a check for $47.64 stating I over paid them. This means my actual bill was $3.75 a nd not 2 bills of $20 and $33 as they stated on my credit report. I called them in Dec,2006 and talked to Kathy B (3rd Party Relations)notifying them that there bills were still showing delinquent on my credit report and asked them to update it as payed in full. I was upset and a little irrate! It was over a year since I payed it and more than sufficient amount of time to have it updated.

I checked my credit report in March and it was still delinquent. I have to say Kathy is the rudest piece of crap I talked to! When she was looking through my records trying to find these bills, she said how hard it was because of so much stuff in records. I told her I divorced and had to claim bankruptcy because my Ex wouldn't pay bills and she stated something she should've left you. I got very mad when I heard that, because it was very unproffessional and it was derogatory. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she wasn't there. I called back later and she answered the phone and gave the same answer. I called the next day and a Valerie answered. I asked to speak to a supervisor and asked asked who was in charge. She told me Kathy and I told her I needed to talk to someone else due to her being the problem. Valerie hung up on me. I will call back again and talk to someone in charge to report her derogatory statement!! !My credit score has dropped 34 points due to their ignorance and laziness. I was trying to get credit to buy furniture and was turned down many times because of 2 delinquent accounts not paid!!! My lesson learned is to always follow-up!!! Trust people as far as you can throw them!!! It's SAD to say that, but it's true!!!

Try adding fake accounts

With the hit on your credit scores, you should try adding fake accounts. It is paramount to your scores by doing so. It's obvious these Heeb's won't fix your report. Experian is always the worst. If you filed in 2003, then plenty of time has elapsed to gain a full recovery.

There are a few sites out there that explain it in detail. These are LEGITIMATE as confirmed by mortgage experts who are concerned about credit inflation. I like to say, 'a little sugar and fake accounts (the spice), makes everything nice!'

If you want to get one over on the beaurocratic bone heads, that is the way to do it. Manipulate the system in your favor!

Dispute this in writing

You need to dispute a credit item in writing, not on the phone. They then have 30 days from that date to verify the items. If they have been paid, then Waste Mgt will verify that they were paid and you should be good to go. You might want to call the creditor first ( Waste Mgt) just to make sure they don't show any old bill of yours still due.

Calling to dispute this though will do you no good. Don't wait years to check your report. You will be notified about the outcome of the dispute in writing as well.

Credit

Your credit score lowering was both from their not reporting AND & the unfortunate bankruptcy filing / lack of credit since.

ABSOLUTELY begin writing to clear this up. Keep copies of everything, date everything. Written word is stronger than 'they said'.

As for obtaining credit for purchasing furniture, I'd advise against. Use credit sparingly or for emergencies, this is something I do now that I wish I'd done long ago. If you're trying to rebuild your credit, secure 'loans' at your bank can be very effective, even if they're only $1000 paid over 5 months.

Cheers,

One other option for you

I have a different approach for you to take besides trying to go after the credit bureau...

Why dont you contact Waste Management FIRST.. Pick your favorite executive and call into the number below and ask for him/her....

Phone: 713-512-6200

Leadership

Mr. David P. Steiner
Chief Exec. Officer

Mr. Lawrence O'Donnell III
Pres and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Robert G. Simpson , 55
Chief Financial Officer and Sr. VP

Mr. James E. Trevathan
Sr. VP of Eastern Group

Mr. Duane C. Woods
Sr. VP of Western Group $

I would try two different approaches.. FIRST.. I would go for having the entire record removed off your credit report... Why? Because you had paid $51 to have roughly $48 returned back via company check.. I would make the case that their accounting department apparently misapplied one of your payments elsewhere and as a courtesy (due to their mistake), the negative item should be removed from your credit all together... FURTHERMORE, I would ask Waste management to put that in writing and state your account is paid in full...

SECOND.. If the first option does not work, then get a letter from Waste Management stating your name, account #, etc... showing your account is paid in full on company letterhead.. If you have this, then submit a written dispute with evidence (the letter from that company) and they will have no choice to update the record..

Guess what.. Experian is actually one of the better credit bureaus.. I am not surprised though in their level of customer service.. Remember, you are dealing with people that get paid a little more than people working at Wal-mart YET.. they are in control of our credit information....

I hope that helps... I do not agree with calling and starting stuff over and over again.. Waste Management is the key here.. MAKE THEM REMOVE THE ENTRIES COMPLETELY OFF YOUR CREDIT...

Also, one other thing... once your bankruptcy is over 3 years old (after being final), dispute it for whatever reason.. There is a good chance it will come off...
