Unadilla, NebraskaTHis is the rudest company i have ever dealt with. My mother tried to cancel her policy because she realized she had a policy with the dealer already that came with her vehicle. When she called to cancel she was harrased and interrogated treated like a child as to why she wanted to cancel. She shouldn't have to give them any other reason as to why she wants to cancel other than she dosn't need it. This companyis the Worst.
The two people she spoke with told her she didn't know anything about repair costs in her area and that she had no idea what it takes to repair a car. My mother is not an idiot. She bought her car from the local dealer that her and my dad have been friends with my whole life ( i am 38) SHe certainly shouldn't have to be talked to this way for any reason.
On top of it all she has to jump through all these hoops that really have nothing to do with her cancelling her policy. They tell her she has to have a notary verify the mileage and her signature and she HAS to mail this to them not fax it in.
When i called the company today and asked why it had to be mailed and couldn't be faxed i was given the crappy excuse that the raised seal from the notary wouldn't go through.....well the last time I checked (this morning) a notary is just an ink stamp. not a raised seal. So they could accept a fax. And really what business is it of theirs what the mileage is. SHE WANTS TO CANCEL THE POLICY JUST CANCEL THE DANG THING!!DO NOT do business with this company.
Not only are they rude and the worst customer service they are on the verge of defrauding her. I will make it MY GOAL to see through any attempts made by this company if the continue to charge her for this policy.
Oh by the way, when i called and asked to talk to a manager....i was told they were ALL busy. Isn't that odd that in a company ALL the supervisors and managers are busy?? CHICKEN!

well thats because it is PRO-RATED!!!
the reason they asked u for your milage is because it is pro-rated and refunded back to you.... if you purchases a 5yr warranty and the 5 yrs was almost up and you decided to cancel it would you expect them to refund you in full??? doesnt make sense does it???
Right on !!!
Your right, this company IS the rudest I have encountered. I was fortunate enough not to get sucked into there vortex of BS extended warranty (Which is unnecessary and a WASTE of money IMHO). I called to get my cell number off their list, they call every day now. Every one of the persons I talked to either hung up on me when I asked for a 'supervisor' or 'manager' (always in a meeting), or was so rude I was boiling mad.
Even if I was interested in the plan, because of the pompus arrogance and pushy attitudes of these 'phone jockey loosers', I would not. I call the main office only to get placed in a recorded loop of '...to be placed on the do not call list....'. There is NO customer service at this company. 'Caveat emptor'

Why this is
The reason that this conpany and most like it request the notary and the mileage is due to the contract probably requires it. The reason is that extended warranty company's refund based of time or mileage whichever is greater
Here are some suggestions
I wanted to try to give you some advice in getting your mother's warranty cancelled. You are absolutely correct when you said that notary stamps aren't raised. The reason they don't want it to be faxed in is because then it doesn't allow them enough time to make the money off of unsuspecting consumers. You can fax it! Also, you don't need a notary unless in your contract from the warranty company it states that they require it, look in the section named 'How to cancel your policy.' Another thing is that in some contracts the warranty company does require the mileage because that is how they determine the amount given back to the consumer. So if the mileage isn't given this is what NAWS will do. They will approximately mileage by how long your policy was active. Most of the time it is about 1000 miles that they base it off of.
So, I do suggest you place the mileage on the ppwk. Also be sure that you quote the policy cancellation section word for word. Most of the time the consumers know more about cancelling the policy then the customer service people do. This is because they are highlu untraded and you are right again the management definately doesn't care. If you call customer service the manager's name is Laci. You could also ask to speak with the adminstration manager, Michelle.
