Please do not trust these people! I am one of the many who fell for their lies. They will tell you about all the work they can give you in film and TV. They will brag about all of their connections. It's not true!
They will make you get photos through them even if you have your own beautiful headshots. Why? Because they'll look through your portfolio and tell you how unprofessional and terrible all of your photos are and then explain how their's are better. I had photos done by an amazing photograher in LA and they said they wouldn't use the photo.
After you pay for a make-up artist and photos ... they will then add in additional fees for "touch-ups" and for storing your photos. If you refuse to pay (as I did) they then tell you they will take the fees out of your first job.
Soon you will find yourself doing promotional work at Wal-Mart and never getting paid. Why? Because Nik will tell you that you filled out the paperwork wrong or you didn't fax it in fast enough.
It is a huge scam! You won't make any money - or not much and they will continue to beat you down so you feel bad about yourself. If they do pay you anything - it's because you called over and over and over and fought for your tiny paycheck. Even then - you won't get it for months.
I have been working for over a year now without an agent. My last job paid over $400.00. It was a legit commercial job and I loved it. Also, they paid me by check ... the same day ... and they paid for my gas to get there.
Actors are often taken advantage of because we love what we do and we are sensitive, caring people. Don't let VIA get their claws on you! And - don't give up on your career!

My mother and i do work for Via Entertainment and if you have any issues with anyone in that office you should say it to them. Brian is not an idiot and neither are any of the others that work there.
F.Y.I my mom works in the office on Filmore St. In the contract it states that the photoshoot is non refundable. The reason you cannot use other photos is because they may be copywrited and that would result in legal action.
With almost all photographers they have control over who you give your photos to. The instructions for the promotions are also clear no mtter where you sre doing it at. If you do not follow all of the guidelines you will not get paid.
The gas issue is also in the paper work you signed. It states that anything over 2-3 hours away you will be payed back for gas if you give them the receites. So as i said before you need to read your paper work.
