I answered an casting call for a print advertising job sent to me through my Model Mayhem profile - from a woman named "Alisa Chipain".

When I got to the casting address (it turned out to be a coffee shop), it was only this guy named Dean Kelly who recognized me from the photos on my MM Profile.

He told me that he just used the "Alisa" name because they kept kicking him off the website when he used his own name. He said it wasn't his fault and that they just didn't like him, which of course made me suspicious.

He then told me it wasn't a print job casting call (there were no other models, just me) - and the "casting" was just to meet about taking "test" photos for his company dashfoto - which has no studio, and his portfolio was full of low-resolution photos I'd seen taken by other photographers from Model Mayhem and other websites.

He said he would submit any photos we took to his "contacts" in the industry - what a laugh.

He suggested going out for drinks, at which point I excused myself.

From what I've been finding out from other models, my story isn't the only one like this. Be wary of this joker - he's not bad looking (he used to be a model), but he's a total scumbag and liar.

Huh?

I had a completely different experience with the guy. Met up with him and went to 2 different castings and saw 3 agencies. Got signed with one of them as well. He shot me and sent my pictures to his contacts. I went out with him that night too, he is a really fun guy. Had a great time. He introduced me to Paul Marciano and a bunch of other well knowns.
Never even thought about modeling until he scouted me. Now I work almost every day.

Are you the girl that sent him pics from 3 years ago that looked nothing like the pictures. Not sure if that was you but he told me about something like that happening and that he felt bad so took her out to coffee.

this girl for the last 3 years changes her name and her m.o to attempt to sabotage my brother and I's business

Ok ive had enough! Allow me to vent real quick, this young lady, 3 years ago sent D pic's of herself, she was booked and flew out to the location. When she arrived she was 3 years older and 30 pds heavier then the pic's she sent! Awkward yes, so we made the best of the situation; D still shot her,(the pic's were rough) and instead of hurting her feelings and making her go home, we let her stay on the couch of the studio and sort of; um had her assist and help out w. the next couple of shoots! No one wanted to hurt her feelings and so we let her hang around and lend a hand w. the photo operations, assisting, lighting...etc

To make a long story short and set this nonsense straight, i feel bad for her, im not gonna mention her name. Needless to say it didnt work out! Especially that night, she turned quite lush hostile when we went out and she drank too much and made a complete spectacle of herself. D sent her to the airport the next morning and ever since then; shes been his ARCH NEMISIS! She makes up fake profiles, she wrote his gf on mspace, she set up blogs, she used his name on other sites, she posed as him, used his pic's his likeness, wrote girls actually pretending to be him. She basically devoted her life to slander him by leading a D hate campaign. Weve never heard the end of this sad bored, bitter person! But you can do that on the internet, cowards can hate on here all day and hide behind a screen and try to plant hate seeds! Harboring hate wont bring them solace, clarity or revenge, ok im getting carried away; anywho!

Now thats the short version of this nonsense, me and my brother wish her the best! Excuse my writing in such haste, but i feel i had to add some input to this internet witch hunt! Now the moral to the story is, ever since then, when models flew in we had them send current polaroid style pic's of themselves before anything! Thank you for your time; pardon the poor grammer and the run on sentences, i wrote this in a bit of a fuzzy rush!
cheers everyone!
Dash

Same Old Dean Kelly / Dash (self-styled GQMadMax) - Still up to No Good! Still Posting under Fake Names!

I've been watching these posts with a lot of interest. Dean Kelly has been up to this nonsense for a while, and it's good to see that it's finally catching up to him.

I've learned from other models and photographers that I've worked with that this guy is always posing as others (including models, other photographers, 'Business Partners', relatives, you get the idea) to give himself testimonials, and to send letters and rebuttals whenever someone calls him out. This guy uses more fake names than the witness protection program.

THANK YOU RIPOFF REPORT!

I met 'Dean Kelly' (or whatever his name really is,, at the time he said his name was 'Dash') for one of these 'photoshoots'. He said he wanted to shoot pix of me and submit them to his contacts in the industr, since he used to be a working male model, I thought he might be legit, and a model can always use updates to her portfolio, but this was a HORRIBLE experience!

No studio, no makeup artist (which he said would be there), no real lights, just amateur equipment, which isn't the worst of it.

Then all he wanted to do was get me to take my clothes off. Even if my Agency didn't have a strict no-nudity policy, I still wouldn't have gotten naked for this bozo, he tried to be all seductive and used the cheeziest lines I've ever heard to try to convince me to shoot nude. NO WAY!

I thought I was meeting someone in my industry that could help, but it turned out to be just another loser hitting on me. I found out later that he has a bad reputation for this; I'm glad to finally see that models are starting to report it.

RIPOFF REPORT GOOD! DEAN KELLY / DASH BAD!!!

The reason it's important is his long history of fraud!

I won't go into the detalis my unfortunate encounter with Dash [aka Dean], but it is no different from any of the other girls posting complaints on the net; my experience was very similar, and I can tell you they are most likely telling the truth, because I experienced the same unprofessional behavior from him.

Fredrick,

The reason it's important is because Dean, Dash, gqmadmax, whatever he is calling himself these days, started and owns this facefuse.com web site.

Other models have told their stories about

- his improfessional behavior

- showing photos that he didn't take as his own creations (stealing)

- posting fake casting calls to get to know models personally

- pretending he was an agent, when he didn't have a license to do so

- posting fake model pages all over the modeling sites and myspace to give fake references and to defend him when people call him out.

We had a long discussion about him (going under the name dashfoto) here - and you can even see the fake models he posts as, on model mayhem

http://www.modelmayhem.com/p.php?thread_id=189662

The point is that he isn't to be trusted, and by signing up on his facefuse site, not only are you supporting a scam-artist, you are sending him your personal information - and this guy has a stalking problem all right, it's just He's the stalker, not the many models and photographers who have posted about his unprofessional behavior.

I doubt, Fredrick, that you are even a real person, it's more likely you're just another fake personality Dean made up to defend his actions. But even if you are not, you are replying to something you know nothing about, and the many models and photographers who have written about him publicly are a little better informed to make a judgement.

It's much more likely that you are just Dean or a freind making up another fake name and trying to defraud the public, there is no other reason that you would pick this ripoff report out of the THOUSANDS of companies to defend.

Thank You
