I have been an Ebay and Paypal customer for a year now. I have also sold on ebay using thier premium business account. This all tied to my bank account and a Paypal Buyer Credit account. I have never been late or over the limit on the Buyer Credit account.

I have recently purchased two items on ebay using the Paypal method. Now when you make a purchase using Paypal the payment method defaults to your Bank Account on file which is verified etc.. But not on these two occasions. I in no way chose the Buyer Credit option due to my balance on said card, but when I verified the purchase through the Paypal website it had been sent to the Buyer Credit account. At the time I had little credit remainig on BuyerCredit account and had enough funds in my bank account to cover the purchase. The purchases were for an amount close to my credit limit, knowing this I did not want to max out my card.

But that was not good enough for Paypal. I think they saw my buying habits in the past week and wanted to try to max me out. This has never happed before because I have never been this close to my max before.

Again I know I did not chose the option to finance these purchases. You have to chose that option at checkout, trust me, My first purchase through Paypal I wanted it as Buyer Credit and thought it defaulted there but it does not and thier FAQ's Confirms this.

Luckly I caught this and made a payment before the statment closing and an over the limit charge was issued. I am so tired of the credit card companies manipulating us for what they can, and I have so many stories.

In closing If you use Ebay, Paypal and Paypal Buyer Credit make sure you verify ever transaction.
