I signed up for 6 month weight loss program and was told it would be $549.00 to join. Ruthie Wilhite was the representive involved in misleading me. She asked me if I wanted to lose weight fast, and I said sure. Then she told me if I used their food, shakes and nutrition bars I would lose the weight faster. I told her that would be fine. She told me it would be $89.00 a month. I said that would be great! Then she leaves the room and comes back with some papers for me to sign. While signing the papers I discovered that it had over $2000.00 worth of items on it. When I questioned her she began talking in circles and called another co-worker named Susan and began telling her I was having second thoughts about the program. I told both of them I could not afford over $2000.00 to go on a diet. I then got some of the papers from her desk together and began adding them up. They added up to over $4500.00 worth of food, shakes, nutrition bars, plus the original $549.00 fee for 6 month program. I told them both there was no way I could spend that much money. These people did not tell me they had opening up a credit card account through Care Credit. They never explained what they were doing they simply brought in papers for me to sign with all these things I had never received. I was so overwelmed I couldn't think straight. I could not believe what they had done. They keep trying to tell me everything was fine and told me to try it for a week and if I don't won't to continue, that would be fine. I took a week's worth of food and drink with me. Well, I did not feel comfortable about the whole thing. They were not honest with me. I called the very next morning and told them I would not be interested, and they still continued to get me to do the program or another one that was simlar. I continued to tell them no I was not interested. This went on for approximatly 2 weeks. Finally I demanded they tell me what I owed for breaking a contract and 1 week's worth of food and shakes. They sent me an email and told me I owed for Controltrim and 2 cases of shakes. I told them I did not and emailed them what I actually got. They said they would give me credit.
That was month ago. I have been calling and emailing, no one would give me the any information about my credit. Then I received a bill in mail for $4596.00. I was so angry I didn't know what to think. I have never had anything like this happen. I called them and still no one would tell me anything except the home office would have to give me credit. In the mean time I am paying the interest on $4596.00. What these people had done is so wrong on so many levels I can't begin to count them all. I don't how approximatly $549.00 turned in over $4500.00 in a matter of less than 10 minutes. I told them point blank I was not interested and they turned in all these food and drink items that I never even received. I would not recommend L A Weight Loss to my worst enemy. These people should be ashamed for what they had have done.
