Phoenix, ArizonaI signed up for Equally Yoked years ago. What a mistake. Their high pressure tactics and high cost of membership should have scared me off immediately. They didn't care that I didn't make enough money. They signed me up with a payment plan! I was living not even paycheck to paycheck. Granted, I'm an adult and if I sign up for something I can't afford, that's my own fault. Personally, though, as a Christian and business person myself, I make a point of not putting my clients in a financial bind.
My biggest issue with them is that I told a friend of mine what I had done who was separated from her husband and pregnant with his child. She called them and they signed her up! She was still married! I asked her if she told them she was still married and she said yes. They knew she was still married and they signed her up anyway.
I was convinced then that all they cared about was getting those contracts signed. All of their talk about being for singles and matching up couples was baloney. I called them and told them I wanted out. I had already decided to quit because I realized I couldn't afford it, but now I was quitting on principle. Since I had passed the three day recission period, they refused. It took a lot of talk and threats before they finally let me out of the contract. He told me he was doing it because after looking at my credit situation, he could see the hardship it was going to cause me. Hah!
I cringe everytime I see one of their ads or billboards. I want to stand outside their office and warn everyone who goes in, but I will settle for this outlet. I can't speak for every EY office, but I find it suspicious that there is no information for contacting a central corporate office. They do provide an online form if you want to open your own 'lucrative' office. Hm...
