Rip-off Report Investigation:

Editor's UPDATE: Positive Rating and Recognition has been given to The National Healthcareer Association for its Commitment to Excellence in customer service.

Rip-off Report's review of The National Healthcareer Association shows an Organization commitment to the Allied Healthcare professional and the delivery of Quality Patient Care . The organization that has been Certifying Allied Healthcare professionals for nearly 20 years(established in 1989) with over 200,000 certified(the largest allied Health care certification agency in the country) makes a 100 % commitment to helping the Allied Healthcare professional move ahead with their career. National Healthcareer Association Certified Allied healthcare professionals can feel comfortable that the organization will always work towards finding a satisfactory resolution to any concerns, As a sign of their pledge, The National Healthcareer Association has recently created a sub department within their Quality control department called The Compliance Department, this department will help Certified Allied Healthcare professionals be able to clarify to employers or future employers what expertise the professional has accomplished by passing the National Certification Exam. The compliance department is our way to show the value of the Allied healthcare professional helping them every step of the way. An NHA executive told us recently. NHA has made a obligation to educating industry about the development and the implementation of their certification exams proving that each certification is evaluated by subject matter teams representing each part of the allied healthcare arena (educators, employers, professionals )working in Clinics, Hospitals, Doctors offices and Private labs and education across the country.

Then each exam question is banked and nominated on by subject matter team members and the final evaluation goes to a Psychometrican, who supports the validity of the exams once that is complete the exam is then published. It doesn't sound like a simple process and it isn't. National Healthcareer Association is adding new Healthcareer titles and has committed to the fact as they added more and new Certification exams they must always need to spend more time making sure that all healthcare organizations and industry are aware of their mission. Another way NHA has improved this is by the development of Health Career Connect Magazine TM that is distributed to Health Career Training Organizations, The Allied Healthcare professional and The Health care industry. It's our best way of communicating our mission and integrity said one Organization Executive. www.hccmag.com another way is reviewing the organizations that approve and recognize them on their web site www.nhanow.com (under Recognitions and Approvals)

We have confirmed that The National Healthcareer Association approach includes a total quality assessment. The result of which, leads to continual devotion to a quality exam development process and educating the healthcare education industry on changes and forecasts in the ever growing world of Allied Health care.We was pleased to learn that the organization past and current approach to business is focused on its pledge to total commitment towards Industry satisfaction.

It is our opinion that Allied Healthcare professionals and industry can feel confident in the fact that The National Healthcareer Association has worked with thousands of Health care professionals and health care training organizations(including the Federal Government, state agencies, US Military) through out the world. They are innovators in their field and have successfully helped the many training organizations, individuals and Industry with the ultimate goal of higher quality patient care.

We are convinced that the organization has been and is committed to quality delivery of services resulting in total Industry satisfaction. In summary, after our review, which included discussions with NHA Senior Management.

===================== NOW TO THE ORIGINAL REPORT THAT WAS FILED

===================== TechSkills - The National Healthcareer Association offers and The NHA issues false CMT Credential dont waste your money Brookfield Wisconsin

I completed the medical transcription course offered at Techskills. I also sat for the CMT (certified medical transcription) exam administered through The National Healthcareer Association, passed and received my CMT Credential.

A number of potential employers asked me "how did I receive a CMT credential if I am a new grad?" I felt so stupid because I did not know what in the world they were taking about. Here it is in a nutshell: after investigating I found out that the only industry recognized CMT Credential can only be obtained through The Association for Healthcare Documentaion Integrity and you must have two years of acute care under your belt. The National Healthcareer Association along with TechSkills were well aware that this credential that they were issuing was indeed not recognised in the State of Wisconsin. Upon contacting The State of Wisconsin Education Approval Board, TechSkills was asked to refund my entire tuition including all of the remaining Sallie Mae Loan and what I had already paid in, which they did. Never the less, I am back at square one. TechSkills has since changed their advertising to include the AHDI, but it is still missleading. It states "in only a few months" which is completely false. When I sat down with the admissions counselor I had explained to him that I needed to work from home due to a number of health issues and he assured me that that would be possible, it turns out they tell alot of people the same thing and it has not happened for them either. Because of the deceit of both of these organizations I am about to loose everything I and my husband have worked so hard for, we are forced to file for bankruptcy. We have not paid a bill late in over 25 years and our credit scores were both excellent, that has all changed now. It seems if a person does not have money to defend themselves then no one cares and TechSkills knew that I did not have money. TechSkills has stopped using The NHA endorsement shortly after they did what they did to me. They are now using The AHDI endorsement. I have contacted the AHDI to see if TechSkills has had their curriculum approved yet. I have had to start a new medical transcription course to be able to obtain employment at home. I was informed by a potential employer that because I am forced to file for bankruptcy(we have no other alternative) that many homebased medical transcription companies will not be interested. Thanks TechSkills and NHA, you've managed to ruin not only my credit, but my husbands also. If I had the money to hire an attorney I most certainly would, but I dont. I am glad that TechSkills had to refund the loan, but the damage that was done is far beyond the $6,495. The funny thing is TechSkills would never give me an answer as to why they agreed so quickly to refund the loan. My guess is they knew they were caught and they figured if they refund the loan I would just go away. Wrong, if anyone else out there has taken the medical transcription course and the CMT exam through TechSkills let me know.
