My company entered into a co-production agreement with Mark Morgan and Maverick Film, which is now Imprint Entertainment. They had to shut down Maverick due to ripping us off among others. We had $500k of the $3m we needed to make our film. Morgan told us that Maverick would finance the rest, but we needed to give him what we had, so he and Guy Oseary knew we were legit. He assured us that Maverick Films, which was Madonna's prodcution company, was corporately guaranteeing it, and that the money would go into an escrow account. After we agreed, Morgan began stalling us, becoming hard to get a hold of etc, until we called and per our contract dissolved our agreement and demanded the return of our money. Needless to say Morgan disappeared, we had to hire lawyers to file a judgment against him, and chase him all over L.A. to serve him. It has been 16 months and we are just now getting him into court. I have talked to numerous people since with similar stories. Mark Morgan is a liar and a thief and cannot be trusted. If you do business with him, you do so at your own risk. He is a very smooth talker and will promise you the world. Do not believe a word he says.
