1 And 1 Internet, Inc. Unable to terminate domain, but sent to collection Chesterbrook Pennsylvania

I purchased two domain names from 1 and 1 Internet. Inc. I explored the potential of actually placing a site there, but found there supplemental programs lacking. So, I sumarily forgot about it.

I received a notice of the upcoming end of agreement. Went to their site and tried in vain to find a way to terminate agreement online. No luck.

The credit card I originally used to sign up was changed, so when 1 and 1 tried to recharge my account, it didn't work. I think that got the company a little upset, because the domain names were transferred and the account went to collection almost immediately.

In the meantime, both of the names were transferred to 1and1, but they tried to charge me anyway. There was no effort on 1and1's part to contact me. No email, no mail, no calls. But I got the collection notices.

I called the company and got the run-around about the subliminal T&C, which is in small print. I doubt if anybody retains what is found there. No success,
no "Sorry to lose you," just "Pay up."

Interesting. No effort to contact me. This operation smacks of a business practice AOL used to use. Keep charging accounts regardless of whether they have been cancelled or not.

And by sending to collection, it has the appearance of RICO Act activity, or as a form of low level extortion.

These people don't like losing customers, so they take it out on the customers. If this is how Customer Service works at 1and1, they should get out of the business. Otherwise, they should be put out of business.

I'm telling 1and1's neighbors about this activity, such as, newspapers, Chambers of Commerce, the PA AG, the BBB and I'm considering the credit card company because of the intent to defraud (even though they couldn't).
