in the early part of 2003 i recieved a letter in the mail telling me that i was approved for a credit card and for me to call a 1800 # so i did and they told me how much they charged and i told them that i would have to wait because i am disabled and my check had not come , so they told me that if i gave them the ok and my checking account # so i did and they took the cash out before my check went in and i had to pay over draft charges , and so after that i called them about it and they acted like they did not know what i was talking about, so i told them to cancel the card and they said they would and just the other day i recieved a letter telling me that i owe them 358.98 and they are going to put that on my credit report if i dont pay the charges, i hope i dont have too, but if i do then i just hope that this dont happen to anyone else .

In California such tactics by companies are completely illegal....set it up with your bank, or credit company, not to honor this transaction or any further billings from this company......and then get a new credit/debit card altogether...
