1NW Contact has not paid me money owed to me for independent contract work.  1NW Contact has a lot of negative reviews with payment issues. They send out invoices and then paychecks on Fridays. I received my first paycheck about 3 business days after the check was sent out. My second check however I am still waiting for.

I contacted the payroll employee, Georgiann Morgan and she insists the paycheck was sent out as scheduled. However, they don't use tracking and she did not offer to cancel the check and send out another one, which is standard procedure. So I am being forced to file a complaint with my labor department.

Other than the payment issues, there was another issue with 1NW Contact that caused me to quit my work at home job with the company. I wasn't going to leave negative feedback, but with all the other feedback issues, and the fact I've had not one, but two complaints with this company, I felt my negative experience isn't a fluke issue.

I was hired for the RBS Campaign. It is the campaign that signs medicare patients up for medical devices seen on a lot of commercials.  The commercials advertise medical devices for little to no cost to medicare patients. Many patients are under the impression devices are free. We were to take their name, number and social security number down and their doctors information and that's all. However, when patients would ask the price for devices we weren't allowed to tell them the price, because the company woudln't let us know the price. We were to give them a deceptive script that was totally patronizing and insulting to their intelligence in order to coax their social security number out of them and move on with the call.

After I looked up US Healthcare, one of the companies we were taking calls for, I realized their CEO had been questioned by Congress this year due to billing Medicare an unreasonable amount of money for items like back braces. And that many lawmakers were concerned that the company was comitting some sort of fraud or deceptive tactics targetting seniors. My gut reaction agreed and I informed my supervisor of my findings and my wish to discontinue my work at 1NW because I had a moral objection to my work.  They also don't do background checks, so they could hire felons at 1NW who could steal the identity of any caller because what is to stop someone from writing down the information of the callers when there's no supervisor to watch them? Scary!

The most telling bit of information was that US Healthcare wanted us to capture the phone number of the caller each and every time. Congress stopped them from cold calling elderly patients and signing them up for medical devices but they can't be made to not call people that call them first. I felt my job was more of a data mining/building for the company to target seniors.  Anyone who works for a company that would work with US Healthcare should be careful as no company with genuine interests would go along with a company who refuses to tell patients ordering medical devices the actual cost of the device before their medicare pays 80%.

I have a feeling I will be waiting a while for my checks from 1NW, but if I have to, I will sue them, even if it takes more than what I made to do so. I would suggest other just not work for this company, ever.

This writing is o obviously that of someone very invested in ths company; certainly not just a $8 or $9 an hour employee.

No one would waste all that time for false claims. Places like this do not care about the people who do their dirty work for them- they care about te bottom dollar and nothing more.

If it weren't for a site like this, these people would never be heard because the employer isn't listening, HR and payroll magically never call back or their vm is conveniently full, etc etc etc.

There are too many good jobs out there where you can support yourselves and your families more comfortably and the LAST thing you ever have to worry about is whether or not your payroll check is going to arrive or clear...good god.

social security numbers of elderly people? Unbelievable.

Stay safe out there!

Nancy

Here is my thought with you, if you felt this way or any other idiot who wrote things and this were true you/they would have filed a complaint with the BBB or local agencies such as any goverment agencies to have them shut down , you claim to be so educated  and put others down as myself who happens to have a business degree, and from what I am reading from you , this is your career to make false statements...lol

You write a story blah blah blah,   poor me   2 side to every story I say.    however we all know that these agencies would follow up with your false statements and would have shut them down if were all true;

Let me give you a few facts,  the checks issue, they had Santa Barbara Bank no issues for years, the union bank bought them out and issues happend with routing numbers, yes I caught in the mix however I was paid all fees I occured from the check issues, the company was great to make sure I was paid, I was so surprised they did this.

As for the form you were asked to sign, for a replacment check well from what I hear, some past agents ripped them off  and cashed both checks when they asked for a replacement check due to slow mail and no lega form was sent.

Nancy as I see it you are a disguntled ex agent who didnt get what they wanted, and you and all of us have the freedom to write what we want, however the law is the law and to all those who read this trust me,  complaints in over 5 years is nothing, just check out other at home agencies and thier reviews.

1nwc bless you for now lowering yourselves to fight back to all your past agent, who all happen to call themselves employess, shows you how stupid they are for not reading contracts and all the forms we fill out before we start

This job has paid me well and am very happy with everyone. I have worked for 3 years and no complaints, Gina is a great project manager, recruting and Admin have helped me in so many ways. Please try this company, and dont listen to the few who write crap!

Harassing Employees and Lying

AUTHOR: anonymousemployee1nw - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 27, 2013

What can I say, the payroll accuntant couldn't call me to address issues with my check, but she can call me to harass me, fabricate stories about her husband being a sheriff and somehow my non payment for my contract services would never be addressed in Ventura county, and then threatened to sue me for the information on Riopff Report. Well that is what companies do when you leave a nasty review..threaten to sue.

Who calls someone from their work phone and harasses them over a negative review? The check was cancelled, even though I didn't give permission to cancel the check and the payroll accountant didn't call me to confirm if I had received my original check before cancelling...she just cancelled the check. So..I have a cancelled check, and an e mail from Georgiann Morgan stating she sent out a new check.

Who would believe them after all this?

By the way, my bank flagged the check as insufficent funds and put a hold on it anyway stating that when I deposited the check (that I wasn't notified would actually be cancelled in an acceptable manner) my bank (which happens to be a huge, national bank) said the account number appearing on the check flagged their fraud detection system because that checking account had been associated with numerous bounced checks in the past. Note, this did not happen with the first check I received from 1NW, but it was written for a small amount.

Go figure...numerous bounced checks. Well, you can read other reviews on Ripoff Report to see for yourself the bounced check issues. Or on Work At Home Mom dot com, there are people with the same complaints there too.  I have notified the owner of the company of my issues, but have not heard back so I can't give an opinion of the owner.

I think the owner reads these, he has many of these on the 1NW website trying to explain them away. So he should consider better trained staff. It is one thing to train people on how to give great customer service, but if your management staff is a disaster, you will have a high turnover rate and nasty reviews. Sure, there are always people who stay years at a job that is a horrible job, some people are desperate, some people are uneducated, some people know they have nothing better to go to so they stick it out and try to make the best of it. If they want to attract "educated" individuals, as the owner of the company states in a Youtube Video presentation about "The Cloud" then they need to actually get some professional staff and management. Because I have an education and options in life, and I am not a total screw up and for people like myself, why would we want to be employees for a company who allows such unprofessionalism when we could work for someone else who treats us as an actual professional and use our education?  So, if you have one or two negative reviews, brush it off. But countless ones...over and over, stop blaming the stupidity of the general public and their inability to pay attention to details and start looking internally.

Harassing Employees and Lying

AUTHOR: anonymousemployee1nw - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 27, 2013

This company is a piece of work.

I got a harassing phone call about my negative review. That is a common tactic by a lot of companies, hence why they have negative reviews in the first place.

Also, HR even became personally involved by lying stating her husband was a Sheriff of Ventura County and that I couldn't do anything about being passed a bad check by this company.

Just...stay away from these people. My goodness!

Check Received

AUTHOR: anonymousemployee1nw - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 26, 2013

The check finally came. However I am writing this company off as a total disaster due to their disorganization.  It shouldn't take that long to get a check out. I believe they are dishonest and scammy.

The form they sent me to cancel the check and receive a new one was written in a way that would allow them to not pay a person after they agree to cancel the first check. My states labor department advised me to not sign their agreement and it wasn't legally binding in order to get paid.

Be careful about this company.
