On their website at http://www.1st-art-gallery.com/the-paintings.html , 1st-art-gallery claim that they use Blockx paint in their cheap and ghastly made-in-china reproductions. We have received many complaints from their customers about paint peeling off their oil paintings after only nine months. We asked one customer to send us the shoddy reproduction –see attached image- that 1st-art-gallery had done so that we could test the paint. Our tests showed conclusively that they do not use Blockx paint but highly toxic cheap, Chinese manufactured paint that can cause lead poisoning if handled incorrectly. We have demanded that 1st-art-gallery remove their claim from their website as they are damaging our brand but they did not respond. We threatened legal action only to discover that they are not located in the USA or UK but merely have postal forwarding addresses there and are in fact located in Israel but sub-contract to Chinese painters who use cheap, dangerous Chinese oil paint.

Poisonous Oil paintings from Toperfect

AUTHOR: Blockx Paints - (Belgium)

POSTED: Monday, April 25, 2016

Showing a photo of a paint box is hardly convincing proof particularly given the objective fact that the Toperfect oil painting that our lab tested contained a dangerous 12000 parts of lead per million. Toperfect state that they don’t know the real purpose of their exposure. I believe the real purpose is to get Jingli Liu to think of the health and safety of the men, women and children who have come into contact with Toperfect’s contaminated oil paintings rather than putting his own personal desire for a quick profit first. The responsible approach for Toperfect to adopt is to organize a product recall of all the oil paintings that they have distributed in the EU and North America as Mattel did with Chinese toys in 2007, given the overwhelming evidence it would be despicable of them not to do so.

BTW, they also laim to use Windsor & Newton paints but our test showed that it wasn't Windsor & Newton paint either, it was highly toxic Chinese paint.
