I mean walk in their office and it looks low budget, they didnt even have a full staff to staff the offices there. I mean then you got a nasty supervisor by the name of Steve who talks to you any kinda way and Tina still has him employed.

They are a joke. Then one of the daughters use to bring her baby with her to work everyday, come on now, so unprofessional. They made one room into a baby room. At a mortgage company you have a baby room?? well thats 1st choice mortgage for you.

This letter is in rebuttal to the allegations made by Secret from Maryland regarding the business practices of 1st Choice Mortgage Corporation of Annandale Virginia.

First, Secret alleges the company never makes good on compensating their employees. 1st Choice Mortgage has been in business since 1998 in the Northern Virginia area. Were it true that we never paid our employees, we would have gone out of business long ago. Secret should be aware that employees alleging nonpayment of earned wages can file a claim with the Virginia Employment Commission. Perhaps the reason Secret eschewed legal recourse, and instead resorted to leveling slanderous allegations via Rip-off Report.com, is because Secret's claim is not valid!

I've recently learned that Secret, who doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to reveal his true identity, is really Lou; an ex-employee of 1st Choice Mortgage Corp. Lou was hired as a telemarketer. Telemarketers are compensated on an hourly wage basis. Telemarketer's can also earn bonuses if their clients actually obtain a loan through 1st Choice Mortgage Corp.

Lou turned in three leads (as they are referred to in the industry) for processing during his very brief tenure with our company. The first clients decided against refinancing their home because they would have been required to pay a 6% prepay penalty on their first mortgage had they done so.

The second client did not meet the minimum income requirements for a loan. The third clients changed their minds about refinancing and refused to return Lou's calls. Hence, Lou wasn't paid a bonus because Lou didn't earn one!

As far as Lou's allegations that we are a ghetto business, I'm not quite sure how to respond. If Lou is referring to the fact that we employ numerous individuals with varying ethnic backgrounds, than by all means we stand guilty. 1st Choice Mortgage Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.

I started this company, in part, because of the treatment I received from some of my own former employers because I am a woman competing in a male dominated industry. I am proud of the fact that my company is able to attract such a diverse group of employees.

On the other hand, if Lou's allegations that we are a ghetto business is an attempt to imply some lack of sophistication on the part of our current staff, I can only point out the numerous spelling and grammatical errors in Lou's report and ask the reader to judge for themselves who lacks sophistication.

Finally, we don't hire nasty and disrespectful people. Again, I must point out that we have been in business for over seven years. A significant source of our fee income comes from repeat business-clients come back because of the efficient, courteous, personal service we provide.

I welcome remarks from any past or potential clients regarding the treatment they received from our employees, and would not hesitate to terminate any employee that was rude or disrespectful to any client, potential client, co-worker, or vendor.
