My experience with 1st Security and preparation was in early 2004-05. They go by a few different names by now, but the same modo. The company is a training and placement company. People interested in becoming guards will go here for consultation of becoming different levels of security from armed to un-armed. The consultative s lead you in the direction of taking certifications that will not really benefit your best interest in the real field of security, only to take most of your money.

I was a security officer and wanted to become an armed security guard in early 2004-05 and spoke with one of their representatives at that time, he informed me that this was a possibility, and i gave him close to one thousand dollars for this. So, I started to attend these classes for homeland security, anti-terrorism courses,8 hour and 16 hour courses in which the instructors was not a good one at all.

It should've been called "Ghetto Security" because these guys looked like he just rolled out of bed un-shaven and finished smoking some weed. Nothing about the experience was professional at all. Then, to find out that i should not have even been taking these courses at all, because it had nothing to do with armed security. Even after i tried to explain this to someone at the office, they give you a huge run around.

This is AFTER you already spent your money, they do not care. Once they have your money, you will see a different side to the staff. It all looks professional to a degree on the outer side and they will schmozze you, but this company is a HUGE rip-off!!! I have been a security officer for 14 years now and to know that this company and many others still openly do business in NY state and STILL rip-off some many New Yorkers is appalling.
