..it only matters what is in writing. If this training program has any guarantee of job placement then you have grounds to file complaints. But I bet they do not offer any guarantee of a job..no one can these days..unless they are lying, or it is actually a job. All they can do is send you to interviews, if that.

I do not take lightly that this almost drove you to suicide and therapy..but millions of people a day have to go for job interviews and don't always get the job. Oh it can be discouraging, frustrating and upsetting, but if getting turned down for a job can effect you to this degree..perhaps it was better that you do not go into the security field. I don't know a lot about this "license"..is it a drivers license or do they require a specific type of license for these jobs? I know some students that do security part time at night and require no special license at all. Background screening and drug testing would seem logical, but unless the job is high security and/or require carrying a weapon, what license do you need? Can you get one if the job requires it? If not, why?

Now where there may be legal recourse you can pursue, is these places that advertise as a job or help wanted..and are nothing but training. You might want to look into that and notify the FTC if this is the case. I was a training coordinator at an accredited school for automotive electronics and audio engineering and was told that we can not advertise like that (this may vary by state law however)..it has to be very clear it is training only unless it actually guarantees a position upon graduation, in writing. What some "guy" said would never hold up in court. "Offering" job placement is not the same thing as guaranteeing a job, keep that in mind. Our school offered job placement but it was clear we did not guarantee anyone a job, only a degree and certification upon graduation..Hiring itself is always the decision of the employer.
