 I had locked myself out of my home while trying to head to work. I was in a real hurry so I called the first ad that showed on google which advertised about a 15 minute show time. I called the number and spoke to a dispatcher who said a technician would contact me. He called and verified the address. He abruptly hung up on me when I asked how long it would take him to get to my home. On their online site, it showed it would cost from $35 to get into my home. I showed him the lock, which was a single knob. He claimed that he wouldn't be able to match the knob as he didn't have one in his truck that was that color. I said it's ok, just please get it open. He also claimed that it would be a "difficult" lock to get open, which was weird because he simply drilled into it and ruined it. Afterwards he demanded I pay him $243 in cash. I told him I didn't have that amount of cash on me and he got agitated. I told him it said on the site they take credit. It was at this point I started to get nervous because my boyfriend wasn't home and this young man was clearly agitated and I started to notice that he didn't have front plates on his car, and I was beginning to question the legitimacy of this company and this random man that had drilled into my home and was now demanding money. I was shaking when I handed him my credit card, which he took a picture of, and when he gave me a non descript reciept I realized I had been scammed. I felt like such a fool. Of course, afterwards, I looked online and found tons of stuff about these locksmiths who rip people off, bully and intimidate them and then disappear. Don't let it happen to you!!
